I had recently purchased nec e228 and realize that i didnt got cd with it. When I contacted company they told me that I have to purchased it. Which is costing me around 25 GBP. Is there any way to download that software through which i can connect my cell from computer and any other cheaper software that can connect it via USB.
need an urgent reply.

Keypad lock is, Press MENU button once, then press *(Bottom Left) button once. Same again to unlock keypad.

Can someone please email me to tell me how to lock the keypad.....by this I mean so that the buttons are not pressed while the phone is in my pocket. Hope this doesn't sound too silly....just didn't find anything in the booklet.

The phone is ok - nothing to shout about. Good quality pic though. Have trouble uploading pictures to the pc.

Why is everone on about the software that they need ? If you take a picture with the phone or a video you just simply e-mail it to yourself on the computer . I am dissappointed with the so called Pay As You Go because it's not , it's more like a monthly tarriff and a real rip off .

nec is gr8 ive had one 4 a long time and the picture on it is gr8 the sound works perfect and the music videos and recordings are excellant aswell i love the nec e228 it is jst the sort of fone i have allways wanted

The phone is great! The display and camera performance is perfect,and the sound is excellent!Using the USB cable is so easy! I've sent about 500 wallpapers from my PC! Please give me your opinions about this phone! :)

NEC e228 is a fly phone but it seems not to perform well in my area (Nairobi, Kenya).
It losses network so many times and automaticaly restarts then prompts PIN 1.
I dont think its true that it was never designed for my area because I've used other NECs before (e.g. DB7000) and they all worked well.
Someone with a clue why it behaves like this, please get back to me.

Max midi size in almost all 3G NECs (at last all available in "3") is 20kb. You have to use a program like PSMplay to cut the midi file.

I enjoy using NEC e228 but my problem is how to download the pictures taken into my computer to send it to my friends. I bought a data cable to enable me send the pictures to my computer, but I was asked to download a software from 3 website for the cable to function properly.. All my attempt to download the software was unsuccessful. Please can you help me to download the software by giving me the neccessary instructions and directing me to the appropriate website. When I connected the cable to the USB port, the computer detected it, but it couldn't work due to the unavailability of the appropriate software. Kindly help me out.

I very much like the e228, but I have a problem, I got a data cable and I have uploaded some ringtones to the phone, the phone shows sign unable to open midi file because the file size is over 20kb the phone has a lot of memory, can anybody help
