Excellent Design... Great Quality... The dream phone I was waiting for long. Thanks NEC to give this nice slim phone. Otherwise, you would end up using UGLY NOKIAs (40% marketshare), at whatever prices they ask for. Don't make NOKIA another MICROSOFT. We as consumer should keep promoting the new great designs to get benefits of compititions.

looks great!
simple, but classy!

Believe it or not, I got this phone about a week ago. I stay in Singapore, it's a phone market here. After using for this long, I give it a 8/10 because I prefer good simple solid phones to ones that's fully packed with features.
And Jack, if you do some comparision, this phone does have a shorter standby and talk time than the rest simply because the battery is built-in. hope that answers your question.

this phone isn't really launched yet but you can expect it next month. The i mode version is N412i and WAP is E949. look out for the special edition in Spain..

Pio :

This phone has been on sale in Hong Kong for 3 - 4 weeks already. We can buy this phone even before the official launch date!

The L1 is sold out at the moment so you won't be able to get any. The next shipment will be coming in October sometime.

This phone is MADE IN JAPAN so it come directly from Japan.

regards

Just got this phone.
The phone feels and looks much much better than pictures.

Good:
Super Slim & Sleek design
Tough (made from metal alloy)
Reception is great
Good interface and user-friendliness

Bad:
Short standby & talk time
Buttons are difficult to press
Built-in battery

Well, the buttons are a bit small, and unless you have nimble fingers or a trip set of finger nails, its pretty hard to push for button. (NOTE: not meant for big hands or women with tallon-like nails) ... it fits perfectly in any small purse or a back pocket... my only problem is, is that it doesn't have a speaker phone :-(

Besides that, the phone works like a charm, not hard to figure out, and the PC program that comes along with it, is fantastic.

This phone is selling very well & there is no stock because of the low supply & high demand!

this totally craps all over the motorola v3...dissapointing about low memory + no card slot but i could get over it...i dont know about the external looks though, a bit ugly...but thats the nec trait...

this phone supports data transfer via blueetooth. it is thinner than the razr

I infact have this phone since last month now. And I am really delighted with it. Esp the quality of its display and camera is amazing. 1.3 MP camera, you don't need to carry expensive camera while moving around. 25MB memory good enough for 125+ highest quality photos. MP3 player and BT for data transfers, no need for cables. So slim and compact comare to V3 Razr. More over made in Japan! I have had used many different phones, but this is simply amazing in this small size. If you want to put it in you Jeans, don't worry, it is thiner than your wallet.

I have no idea if this L1 support bluetooth data transfer or not(I did not try).
When compare with the V3 side by side; the L1 is narrower & tiny bit thinner but overall it is longer than the V3(including the "antenna handle"). The V3 look better in comparison & more comfortable to hold.
L1 has got build-in battery so you cannot change it. The sim card slot is on the side.
The numerical numbers of the keypad are hard to press(you have to press quite hard) & the feel of the feedback was no good(the response & feel of the V3 keypad is nice for a thin phone).
The screen colour is ok, interface ok. Anyway I am not impressed so I did not buy it.
To me, the V3 is much better overall!

wow u have tried it, pls can u tell me bit more detail, e.g. comparison ot razor, and one main question, does it support bluetooth data transfer.

This thing is Made in Japan as printed on the back cover. I am not so impressed after seeing & trying this phone!

The phone is so slim and fully featured. Too bad the back design is so crap. You can see the screw and nec barcode (the one with id and stuff) on the back. pity. Lets hope they make the interface looks better. coz as far as i know all nec user interface are prety much boring with old uninteresting icons.

Nice design...only downfall is the short standby & talk time...What a pity!
