Huawei and Honor might have a big issues outside China, but at home the company and its subsidiary remain a leader in the smartphone market. One way to keep the top spot is launching new phones every month, and the latest device that Honor will unveil is going to be called Honor 20 Lite.

One user on Weibo was complaining there is no new phone for her, and then George Zhao, Honor CEO, chimed in, saying she should wait for the Honor 20 Lite that will look good and will take great photos, including group shots.

A device codenamed Honor LRA-AL00 was certified by TENAA, although photos are yet to emerge. The specs list includes octa-core CPU that is likely coming on a Kirin 810 chipset, up to 8/256 GB memory and three cameras.

The main shooter will be 48 MP and it will be flanked by an 8 MP snapper and a 2 MP depth sensor. Whether this is the upcoming Honor 20 Lite or a completely new smartphone, we are yet to see.

The Honor 20 Lite moniker is definitely not new - such a phone with three cameras can be found in Europe or the Asia Pacific region. However, the device is sold under the name Honor 20i in China, meaning the domestic market is going to see a completely new smartphone, or at least a rebranded Huawei handset.
