New rumor says Samsung Galaxy Note8 will be first Snapdragon 836-powered phone

Samsung's next phablet flaghsip - Galaxy Note8 - has been the subject of a few rumors and leaks so far, revealing details like 6.3-inch Infinity Display, dual rear-camera setup, and Android 7.1.1.
Now, a new rumor has surfaced revealing the chipset of the device. The rumor says the handset will be powered by the yet to be announced Snapdragon 836.

The report notes the Snapdragon 836 chipset would be a slightly improved version of the Snapdragon 835 SoC, which is the latest and the greatest mobile chipset Qualcomm is currently offering.
Snapdragon 836 will feature an octa-core 2.5GHz processor, up from SD835's 2.45 GHz. There will also be a 740MHz GPU. The Galaxy Note8 would be the first device to pack in this upcoming SoC, followed by the LG V30 and the second-gen Google Pixels.
