It doesNY mattmatter how many other arm cpu is out there. Arm support s 1 instruction set. And that is the same for all arm cpu. If they were different then any new arm cpu would need a whole new compiler option in android tools to support it and each company to support it. Arm license there tech so anyone can make a cpu and optimize it as they want so long they sstick with the architecture, which is why all are arm based. Apple design there own cpu. Arm based but they as oppose to all manufacturer could provided a new set of instructions that is faster and alter the cpu as they want without going back to arm. After all all there apps are done by there tools.

It is just progression and the amount you will not notice a huge difference if both were running the same software. Apple right now are working on the Air 3 chipset. Whereas Google are thinking about who the next Nexus partner will be - they have no idea about what the software will look like or even get to test it. Apple have a massive advantage in this unless google changes it OS strategy and release it earlier like MS does with Windows.

Silver is the best, and copper is almost twice as good aluminum. And yes, both aluminum and copper are used commonly.

android fan here the a8x is definitely a beast, great job by apple. give credit where credit is due. The nexus 9 i think is wont be able to exceed the numbers posted. but i think major factor is the 28nm against the 20nm. just like the exynos 5430 in the alpha it performed extremely well compared against the s5 with exynos 5422. both have almost the same chipset except for the 20nm for the alpha. with that said definitely ipad air 2 is the tablet to beat right now. Nexus 9 still does an excellent job and even the 32-bit shield tablet. but i still prefer the 32gb lte shield tablet. Just my 2 cents.

The A8X is tailored to Apple's configuration, very well optimized SoC I will easily admit. Probably one of the best out there currently. But the A8X has one major advantage over the Tegra K1 which is what puts it at such a level. iOS, which is a closed system that only targets a limited amount of SoC's. Where as Android or even Windows, has code that targets multiple SoC's.

I still stand by my claim saying the A8X does not out class Tegra K1. I'm not saying that being a fan of Android or Apple, I'm just giving my look at it. There are too many factors to say this.
