It's nowhere close to be dumb. It's highly desirable for flagship smartphones to be water/shcok/scratch resistant. It's too bad Samsung couldn't waterproof the Note 4 after they did it with the S5 (probably has to do with the S Pen slot, but still it's a pitty).

Why would anyone buy Note 4 when it costs 30-60% more for the same Android apps and comparable specs to Nexus 6, Xiaomi M4, Sony Z3?

And please educate yourself what the s-pen does, the fact that you actually give plus points for form over functionality for a /smartphone/ reveals you don't have use for one.
Metal vs plastic? Try cheapest metal vs most expensive plastic. And not just bendy metal, denty metal as well. Look to HTC for how metal phones should be designed.
"TouchWiz is laggy" is the go-to cliche of people who haven't caught up to the times and the "smoothest-experience-ios" is oh so valid considering that it was designed to only do one thing at a time.

Platic vs bendy metal? It looks like a no brainer.
One UI vs Another is totally subjective, as is the OS itself. Both have strong and weak spots.

It's not always how you start but how you finish. I have a great feeling that the Note 4 is going to do quite well. The only reason I don't have mine yet is because my two years isn't up with At&t until December. However, At&t offered me the chance to give up my unlimited data plan for the chance to upgrade using their Next Plan so they could add me to the list of Data Plan rape victims. No thank you, I'll wait. The Note 4 Rocks and I'm patiently awaiting my turn. The numbers are sure to rise.

More like one day in the US since it was released 10/23 for Verizon and a couple of days for other US carriers. I'm still deciding but without a doubt Note 4 is probably the best next to Nexus 6.

That stupid placement of speakers on the back is a deal breaker for me. Waited for long for this phone but they stupidly put speakers on back. Staying with my Note 3.

Still pretty big numbers from a phone that some people kept scoffing off about because it's using a supposedly "outdated" stylus.
I'll be buying this in 2 weeks' time. So excited!

S-Pen VS a good design? Easy choice, since a pen for a phone is useless and just a gimmick.
Plastic VS metal? Metal, all the way. Bendy or not.
TouchWiz, the worst UI on the market, VS the smoothest experience in a mobile device?

iPhone 6 Plus, all the way.
Nexus 6 on the other hand...
