gr8gizmoguru, 01 Nov 2014Well i own an iPad, one Xperia ZL (android) and also one No... moreYea, WP is terrible. The IE Browser sucks on it. Why no forward/back buttons? Idiots and MS haven't figured out you should make your software that is available on the desktop platform have features which are identical to their mobile platform.

Then there's the content management issue. Want to save a media file you received in an e-mail directly to the phone and delete the e-mail? You can't! Need to sync with a computer and do it that way.

Microsoft figured they could buy market share through Nokia to ensure WP success. Too bad that Elop and Co didn't have the common sense to realize that if the OS was feature rich and flexible (like Android) that the OS would have been successful in it's own right across all manufacturers. Instead, Mr. Elop forced WP on loyal Nokia customers and only because they had no other options on the mid to high end phones was it successful. The novelty of tiles has worn off and if you love the Tiles experience you can get it with 3rd party launchers on Android.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2014after 6 months of use my S5 on kitkat is as laggy as my s2 ... moreOk, let's say your S5 is actually lagging because you've loaded a bunch of programs that run in the background. So what have you actually done about it?

I mean, have you looked to see what you've loaded that's using up the memory?

Several years ago (at least 2 years) I commented here and on other forums that I can make an OS (mobile or desktop lag). I've done it with ios and Android. It's not that hard. Keep opening up applications and eventually the system crawls. With my wife's ipad 2 it would seriously lag after opening about 40+ programs. With Android it's not as many because of the Java runtime on top of the Linux OS kernel.

So you guys don't like your phones (Android, WP, ios, whatever) to lag, close down the programs running in the background and delete programs that automatically startup when the OS is booted which you don't use anymore and like magic, the OS doesn't lag. If you're running low on storage, archive old photos off the phone or onto a SD card, delete junk and old browsing files (Android - use a program like clean master) and uninstall programs you don't use anymore so the OS has room to run.

Most importantly, if you've bought a manufacturer's flagship phone in the last 18 months, stop complaining about it lagging, because the reason is you don't know how to properly use the thing.

Well i own an iPad, one Xperia ZL (android) and also one Nokia Lumia 520 (wp)...i can say my android never lagged even after using it for months. Yes iOS is smooth but its claustrophobic. i cant change anything..hell i hate itunes and i cant share my stuffs with bluetooth with anyone :( Now thats a big negative for me. As for Windows Phone...initially it might fancy you but later you will get bored and the app store is appalling. So in a way Android will move up more. iOS will have its niche customers..sales will be static few months down the line...and God help Windows Phone.

Then I can confidently say you have not used any android devices in the last 1 year. Or you have used only Samsung devices and complain about touchwiz instead of stock android. My Moto G (2nd gen) does not lag at all even after 2 months. Of course, I am a moderate user, not a heavy user. But lagdroid does not hold good anymore.

AnonD-295863, 31 Oct 2014I do agree(from the reviews I have read) that iphone 6 have... moreLet me make a bold prediction here. Iphone sales will start going down from later part of year 2016. It will still sell in millions, but it will stop breaking sales records of previous models and sales numbers will start taking a downward trend, unlike the upward trend in the last few years. The below are the reasons I could think of:
                1. User experience in Android would have improved to the extent that android midrange device would be sufficient for most of the casual users who are buying iphone for user experience now.
                2. Imagine a Snapdragon 801 powered midrange device for $300 competing against iphone 7 for $1000 at the end of year 2016. There would be many people considering switching from iphones to android devices looking at how much VFM they are.
                3. Apple will continue to charge premium in rest of world (except US) and will focus on premium segment only.
                4. The user experience that apple claims as strong point now will come back to bite apple when competition is able to provide the same user experience at 1/3rd of price. Right now, that is not the case. Android flagships provide good user experience, but they are also expensive. So iphone owners would not consider moving to android now. But that would change slowly and apple will find it hard to attract new customers unlike now.

"iPhone 6 is the best phone available right now. Why are people still debating?"
when you say iphone6 do you mean the latest & larger display version of the iPhone 5?
                  http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4910&idPhone2=6378

Aka your original iPhone 5 is good for another 2 years.
                  12. Anything worth selling is worth selling twice

No one is debating as the comparison CLEARLY shows that there is NO iPhone6 (it more like playing 'snap' than finding an enhancement)
