This is a manufacturer with very cheap business tricks. I still suffer buying their tricky products. Sometimes I feel like break my Sony Xperia into small pieces. I'm changing brand to Taiwanese manufacturer.

Sony is a company that deserves to be at the top, simply because i feel it gives consumers 'Money's worth' People here bashing saying Xperia phones are no good, they get hot and blabla, should consider getting a life. Samsung treat the world like their slaves, selling garbage with the same design and minor changes in every phone. When the Z3 came everyone started bashing Sony saying there are no big changes. What about Galaxy line?? Are there game changing differences. Just by including finger print scanner and heart rate monitor they thought they can get people's attention. Every Samsung user isn't a heart patient. When Sony put 3 gigs of Ram in the Z2, everyone said 'no need 3 gigs, 2 is enough' If the Galaxy line did the same people would be overjoyed. GN4 Edge is not going to be released in large numbers (may be few thousand devices, that's all). Samsung is equally culpable with its pricing like Sony, for losing market share. As long as Samsung/Sony/HTC do not correct their pricing, they will continue to struggle against the likes of Moto/Xiaomi/Meizu/Micromax etc.

Sony can improve their sales with a single software improvement. Just add native 3g video call to all of their smartphones. European networks can use this feature for video conversation without the need of data package or wifi. This is a big reason Samsung rules Europe. only Samsung has this software. Even some chinese makers have it. not Sony, or lg or Apple or Xiaomi or Htc.

Answer to those who say Sony phones are not expensive, I say it's too expensive & this is the reason u got such result Sony !! India can revive Moto with the correctly priced one phone. Yes , just One Bloody MOTO-G. What u think releasing ultra highly priced phones

All popular brand will suffer of losses because of incoming chinese brand like xiaomi, miezu and some others which also good quality. For same spec more than half is the difference of price.

The chart actually says they sold more mobile products than same time last year...
Earning more on mobile than last year...
And says that their overall operative loss in this segment is due to computer bussiness going out and forming the mobile comm department...
Which is overall good news in long term for Sony mobile...

If you're Sony, 1 high end, 1 mid-range device. That's it. Less markets.
Separate yourself from the rest by focusing on customer service. That is worth a premium.
If they come up with a functioning qwerty phone for business then add that as well. Maybe license Blackberry OS10.
