this sounds great. i am not surprised, since i had nokia phones that wore not made to sufer this punishment, and held up preaty good, even with water and shocks. i am talking about the nokia 7250i and 6310i. both phones survived until i got newer models. 6110 navigator, and now the n82, can also take a good beating... worst phone i had whas the SE k800i and nokia E90, both had sofware problemes, or the mother board got damaged.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2009another piece of junk from nokia, they still make these poi... moreWhat keeps Nokia on top is that their main focus is on telephony and telephony features rather than multimedia. Regardless of what these hi-tech phones have it still boils down to the fact that it's a phone and the PRIMARY reason why it was purchased in the first place.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2009You mean that you are stup1d? Sometimes you people are immature or just not thinking.

The person meant FEATURES but said FEATHERS. Should that give anybody the right to bash them ?

It's probably a Spanish, French or some other language speaking person who learnt English as a second language and can't write it that well.

tira, 09 Jul 2009look pretty and am glad is a tough phone. will have its fai... moreit will have it share but it will pathetically lose like 5500...5500 key pad peel off in no time, poor battery, very small screen....its share will drop just like its predecessors...i know its IP-54 certified but putting 5500 performance in mind users will think hard before buying it

another piece of junk from nokia, they still make these pointless phones when everyone is making touchscreens no wonder they are losing market share, hardly to believe the number 1 phone company still have not made an HD touchscreen phone. i can't believe how this company still on top even SE realized it and are coming with some great phones. it will be not too long until Samsung and LG take the lead

                        - not 850MHz [kills self in 2/3 of American market]
                        - not Symbian
                        - no WiFi
                        - no A-GPS
                        - not tougher than my NgageQD, because it does not exist yet.
                        - not as versatile as the Motorola Tundra VA76R
                        Pos
                        - camera
                        - better dust resistance
                        - Nokia S40 has improved alot in past 5 years
                        Conc
                        - If Nokia bought a clue and made a Nextel like phone like the Tundra then a significant amount of people who believe in Nokia in the USA would get it. Till then we are stuck with NgageQD's because they have not died yet... 5 years later.

I wish all of Nokia's phones were built to this level of ruggedness.

Very classy phone, but would like to see one with a full length screen, and D-pad on the bottom.

yes but this not the long expected 5500 sport successor..
                            they really miss this business.
