Samsung just needs to have ONE variant of the "main"
E.g. S5; then S5 Mini, S4; then S4 Mini
The Note series does NOT have a mini
At present there are so many variants the cater for every budget and differ so slightly in price and specs
People either budget up or budget down so are making choices for the phone they use, as now it appears you can turn up at a shop and say I have $x what Samsung will that get me
Xiaomi etc are only offering mid to mid high phones that rarely have memory expansion they also release these affordable phones less frequently and like Apple or should I say unlike Apple they are actually upgrading the earlier release Mi 4 is an upgrade on the Mi 3. An example of Samsung brilliance is that it remains unchallenged in being the highest spec premium phones.
The companies you mention are not competing with Samsung.
Samsung again showed this brilliance in releasing the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, a better IPhone than the Apple iPhone for those who like metal (eg Magneto!)
Instead of keeping the very things that make it Samsung removable battery kept! it ditched why Samsung why? memory expansion,the Alpha only having 32Gb.
This would have been a 100% success but Apple dropped the 32Gb iPhone6 so the Alpha ONLY challenged the 16Gb iPhone, (and not the now defunct 32Gb)
To correct this 2 variants of the Alpha now have to be released , the A3 & A5 both with toned down specs of the Alpha but BOTH with memory expansion
The only needed to be one Alpha with memory expansion to challenge the entire Apple iPhone range and not three, 2 of those having memory expansion.
As a result the 2015 Alpha(Beta) must now have memory expansion this could mean a reversal in that the A3 & A5 become fixed memory options
Samsung are releasing too many phones with similar specs
Many show up at shops with no idea of what they will eventually buy, it is easier to sell a phone with specs you know than with phones you don't.

Bu... moreBro Samsung always focus on low end devices , because lot of people are there do not need big phones or premium phones. That requires lot of models to impress small pocket customers. Apple never think about low end market because they know people are always there who think about self status in community. For me Touch wiz is the best launcher available on android, because it's more colurful and well designed.

Defeated by Apple.
Now they using new naming methods. But it would be useless!
Just do the following:
1. Just release 1 or 2 phones, THATS IT.. don't care if people overtook your specs!
2. Touchwiz STOP IT.. make it simple and lag free.
3. Stop copying others! Keep everything original. So even if people sell cheaper then yours, yours still still sell.

only solution for Samesung - drop touchwhiz, go with close to stock andriod with only some useful added features to brand it. like motorola!
Or, one more option - get burried like Nokia, they never left symbian os well in time, you wont leave touchwhiz when you still have enough time!

Samsung has just been dealt a mighty blow by Apple, with +740 damage.
Any buyer of Samsung phones from this moment on, will probably be quite upset, because to fight back, Samsung is now going to launch a new phone model every other DAY just to see what people want, and to keep in the news.
I've never seen a company rubbish and obsolete their own products so fast.

Samsung should just sticks to Note & S series, as nobody is buying their mid range & low end phone anymore, the more model they launch the more money they loss.
No way Samsung can beat those China brand like Xiaomi, Huawei & Lenovo in term of pricing, technologies chances every 3-6 months nobody wanna pay high price phone as they don't intend to keep it for years..
Samsung is heading the same dead end as Nokia few years back.
High price, same design, pack with bloatware, no firmware update, low specs hardware, Samsung deserved its downfall.
