I wished for Z4 Ultra to be true! I had been waiting that as the Z Ultra is a godly phablet! Best if the battery life is godlike like Z3 even with those huge screen resolution and comes with a sensor same as the Z4!

though i am a hardcore sony fan I must admit that sony has serious manufacturing process problems. I can easily see its not even close to sigma standard. I am using their Z line up since its inception. ZL, Z, Z2, Z3now. but other than ZL,none of the other phone have survived more than 2-3 months time without any issues. Most of these are cosmatic though.Their glass panels do not sits properly on the metal frame. Any good eye can see the flaw in any handset you pick. Sim not fitting properly, Back glass panels losening etc. are very common. all the above mentioned set i used was replace two to 3 times free of cost by sony. My Z3 has been replaced with new set twice and right now its in the service center for third replacement. I am frustated really.

Can't wait for the z4 lineup if these rumored specs are true or maybe even better. And yes Sony pls ditch the 2 flagships per year cycle. Still lovin my z1 compact for months now though, still in top shape.

The best bit about this rumour is not the specs. Its that Sony has gathered some common sense and realized no one wants to buy a 700 dollar device that will be outdated in less than 6 months. It's economic suicide on the company's part. It speaks of a company that has absolutely no long term strategic plan and their financials reflect that. Its about time Sony turn around and focus on innovation rather than repetition.

i have the first Z Ultra there was a Z2 Ultra too but was more of a big downgrade than an updagrade so i hope the Z4 Ultra is worth the shot otherwise ill stick to my Z-Ultra

Very unsubstantial rumors to say it the least. Unfortunately i strongly doubt there is a Z4 Compact coming at the same time as Z4. Sony has screwed up bigtime, the Z3 Compact didnt improve on Z1 Compact in any important area, basically we just got more processing power, the one thing that Z1 Compact didnt need more of but still they didnt hesitate to downgrade the frame (Samsung is grateful, they sell millions more Alphas thanks to the Z3C plastic frame), thus Z3 Compact remains a niche product that lots of people are interested in but few buys, and most of those who are interested in paying overprice for low res midrangers just because they perform well in something as useless as AnTuTu choose Galaxy Alpha instead.
One can hope though, a 1080p compact/mini is long overdue already, Sony SHOULD hurry and launch a phone that is what Z3 Compact should have been but seeing Sony Mobile have a death wish it is too unlikely.

I hope upgrade will bring better notiification volume, smart call handling, faster and smoother app animation, transition, faster camera app (opening, focusing, shooting) just like on iphone...
I don't get it...advanced hardware but still behind iphone, samsung, htc...

I bet the battery life will b... moreThat would normally be the case, but with the 810 chipset and Sony's rapidly advancing screen tech, I would put my money on better battery time, if not by much. But true, very few people would notice the difference in normal usage between a 720p and 1080p screen at 4.6 inches diagonal...

That's great but the bigger question is will Sony mobilephone still be around by next year.? Sony sales will continue to slow down or worse because of the rise of cheaper and better spec chinese phones!

Really hope a new Ultra will arrive, but a bigger battery (round 4000+ mAh) should be a absolute minimum for this screen size and a potential higher resolution than 1080p.
Since Huawei managed to get 4100 mAh in their smaller mate 7, I expect at least the same, or preferably 4500 mAh.
Not to mention smaller frames, especially on the sides. The current Z Ultra actually has a small screen compared to it's footprint. So since they're keepig the screen size, then they should reduce the length and width. And I would prefer that the most of that focus is on width.
