Hey, multi-tasking has been out on the iPhone for 3weeks now.Just download "Backgrounder" from Cydia!
Just keep falling in love with this 6inch OSX beauty everyday..what with the new App-a-day and the super suave OS3.0!
The gap that the iPhone is putting between it's closest rivals is just too huge now to call them competition.
There have been so called "iPhone killers" in the Omnia,Diamond,5800,HTC HD,N96,N97 but though many of them have great hardware their os is just a generation behind.

yeah no doubt the best apps are on iphone but real multitasking (allow me to mention pre here) would have been sweeter

I think it is fantastic that Apple has done wonders with their app store. Yet as a Canadian, using iTunes I have no idea how one access's the supposedly thousands of Apps available. If I connect my iTouch and go through every category and use the 'all' choice...the absolute most I would get is about 100 per category on average, Rounded UP. Spread over about 10-12 categories that is about 1200 apps total. hmmmmm pretty big freaking spread from 65,000 apps supposedly available.
I would like to see the App store figures broken down into Real numbers.
Country has X apps for iPhone/ for iTouch and has an average of X% that are rated 4 stars or higher by more than 500 people. (billions of people downloading shouldn't be a problem to get 500 reviewing on the best of the best apps)
.i.e. (Numbers below are fictitious and only give an IDEA of layout/data) so it would look like this:
Canada has 1213 apps for iPhone/ 680 for iTouch. 1% are 4 star+ ratings as reviewed by 500+ people.
USA has 48,000 apps for iPhone/ 17,000apps for iTouch. 15% are 4 star+ ratings as reviewed by 500+ people.
Overall, the stats given by apple are pretty useless as they sit. More like just a mass collection of numbers with no real value. Another thought...are updates to apps considered separate downloads?
