Anonymous, 16 Jul 2009sorry to tell you this brenda love, the i phone is cheaper ... moreMy friend's co-workers ask me this when i was showing off my SE X-1; they ask me to show them my photos taken with my precious X1. so I showed them 25 very very sharp and well exposed photos, that's all i have in my phone at the moment since i purchased it few months ago. Then he showed me his iphone 3G (not 3GS) which he bought last month and he have hundreds of photos in it, all under-exposed, few sharp ones but mostly slight blurry. I just laugh! then he ask me who have better picture? I laughingly said how can his compared to mine? Then he said "I didn't ask you who have better photos but who have better pictures!" I was like puzzled but then he said: "your x1 may take a lot better Photos but not necessarily better pictures!" I said what the hell's that suppose to mean? Then he told me that a good picture tells a story and/or express or feel their emotion. Then I looked at my photos again and all i see is a very well exposed and sharp photos with very little emotion or expression/action. Compare to his under-exposed and mostly blurry shots, his shows people having fun, children playing, people debating over dinner table and you can almost feel their action; as if it is communicating with you. Then I argued that if i know photography i can do that too and in better quality than yours. And he said "yes - that's true! so it is not the camera that count but the person behind it!... tell me this what is the point of have such a good camera if you don't use it but kept it in your pocket all the time? Can your super good camera better picture being kept in your pocket than a lousy camera that's firing away?"
I was speechless! Frankly i don't know how to answer him. either he's absolutely correct or I'm total stupid!

Am surfing via iPhone safari.. 3gs response is indeed usable, fast, allow to be abused (eg safari with 6 tabs of frequent website)
I was royal user for windoze mobile since 5 years ago. But it was never been so usable device.
Eg, I just wake up and dun need to come down from my bed, I run imeem music in background, I say hi to all my friends in ebuddy also running in background, then I check app's update directly from the device, then I am reading news via safari, check latest handset in gsmarena, etc... Endless...

Dumping so many features on a phone does not necessarily mean that they are better phones. You have to get out of that mentality. What good is flash support when it behaves erratically? It plays videos now, it won't in some sites. It plays You Tube videos, then sometimes the video stops voluntarily. You do not have those problems with the iphones, because whatever the iphone has, it just works. People brag about FM, yet they barely use it because they have hundreds of songs in their mp3 anyways. Some phone features are impractical if you ask me. But they throw it in there anyways to impress consumers like you =)

The truth is Apple have caught all the other manufacturers sleeping. Nokia has become complaisant (N96 was poor and N97 isnt the best), Blackberry make handsets that they think customers should like and all the other manufacturers make handsets which have bad touch screens, ugly designs and their phones dont have a wide enough appeal to sell enough.

Whenever I read about anything to do with iPhone on this iste the writers always have to have a dig at iPhone, in this article it is 'more useful apps.'
When are you going to get used to the idea GSM arena, iPhone is EASILY the best overall phone out there. Granted, what counts is what phone suits its user best but I stick by my point.

When you pass from a Nokia phone to an Apple phone you have to get used to the features. Nokia is like Windows, user friendly etcetc and ppl at least from Europe like better this phone and find Apple "comlplicated" because they are not familiar with the OS. On the other side Apple has better performance. Its like we talk about computers with different OS. You just have to play a little with the apps.
Depends on what you need from a phone: better camera, faster webbrowsing, long talktime, bigger display etc etc. At least ATM you cant find an ultimate phone.

[deleted post]sorry to tell you this brenda love, the i phone is cheaper than the n97 for starters,why do you need a 12mp camera when a 5mp will do unless you are going to blow the image up to a billboard size poster which i know you wont ,nokias have carl ziess optic lens the best company for cameras by far do i need to say anymore, the end of the day its a mobile for making and recieving calls with a few extras for consumers

Still, Nokia N97 is way better than Apple iphone in terms of features. I'm a proud Nokia N97 owner, and I'm loving it. It suits all my needs(ie. QWERTY keyboard, memory card, etc).Its Performance is good. But i hate people comparing it to iphone. IMO, it all depends on users' preference. iphone for performance, Nokia N97 for features. All mobile phones has its own weaknesses.

Now if you are pitting the iphone to ALL Nokia phones, including their low end ones, of course Nokia would sell more units as a whole compared to Apple's iphone.
