Tower of Cookie: 5 million LG Cookies sold in 9 months

20 July, 2009
There's an LG Cookie sold about every five seconds somewhere in the world. LG are keen to point out other numbers the most important of which is that over 5 million units were sold in total for the 9 months...

I happily bought a cookie and was please for about 3 months with it, until I realised it wasn't exactly a outstanding phone. Yet I would happily recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cheap phone which ticks many boxes.
good points-value, applications, qwerty on-screen keyboard, 3 MPixel camer.
bad points-not very tough, slow processor,

My, Tucks that's very refreshing. From what I've read of this set of reviews you're flaming the Cookie and some of its' users to the point of wishing all our phones would break. Tsk, Tsk, not very charitable is it?

I had my Cookie delivered around six weeks ago on a 7 day approval. Initially it wouldn't work with G-mail but my network sent me settings and talked me through the process. Now it's working very well. It may not have GPS and download my emails regularly ( I have to go online to pick them up ) but as a phone it is brilliant. The sound is very good, loud and clear. Battery life is exceptional and I haven't encountered any software issues. I'm very happy with the phone's UI. It's very easy to navigate round the phone. the The size and weight of the Cookie are a great advantage. It's light and so very slim it slips easily and unobtrusively into a jacket pocket. I haven't used it as a MP3 player nor do I view lots of videos. It suits my purposes very well. Having been an almost life-long Nokia user, my previous two handsets were the Samsung E900 and HTC Touch. The Cookie easily outpoints either of them and I think I'm as happy with it as I would be with almost any Nokia. It's not perfect but we don't live in a world that is.

      Kind regards

cheap doesn't mean bad ! it's cheap because it doesn't have 3g,gps,wi-fi , camera above 5mp , flash etc.....thus with its reasonable price, making the maximum people worldwide experiencing the touch screen technology !!! remember before the cookie, the only available touch screen phones were 3 or 4 times more expensive !

Cookie is the best product.... those who are saying they shoud know tht SS is just copying LG.. LG first launched Cookie, SS then launched SS-Star..... LG launched then Arena, and then SS launched Jet... SS has nothing to come up with innovation just copying the LG Mobile phone.................SS Thief

rashmi ranjan sharma, 22 Jul 2009first, i would like to congratulate COOKIE for the success.... morewe sell the cookie you arse, read our comments. we sell this phone!! it's our best ever selling phone. and the return rate is shocking.

                  do not buy this phone

                  rashmi you are ignorant

buy a tocco lite, i'm not envious and nor is anyone who has said don't buy this phone.

tocco lite is around the same price and a heck of alot better.

how can i be envious if i own a touch hd?? and we sell it. i'm not trying to wind anyone up

anyone who comesinto our shop and wants a cookie i won't sell it to them as it will just come back to me with problems.

take it from us we have the most experiance with this handset. its truly awful

first, i would like to congratulate COOKIE for the success. People like myself who own the Cookie are not damn people, we have read reviews, asked people who own it what's good about the phone, before buying it. and for LG Cookie to reach 5 million units sold in 9 months simply means that the phone is really good and worth buying.. so you envious guys, why don't you just ask your cellphone manufacturers to come up with phones that are as good as the Cookie and keep their prices low so that they too will be able to sell as many as the Cookie has sold. and for those who haven't got hold of the Cookie, buy it and it's really a good buy.. CONGRATULATIONS again Cookie and more units to be sold..

Samsung_Shonga_Shong, 21 Jul 2009i think Samsung's s5230 and s5233 didn't even hit the 10,00... moreWe've sold more than that in my company alone. The samsung s5230 is a quality phone, not like this garbage. For the same price you could have a very decent handset. Plus the cookie came out a long time before the tocco lite and the cookie came out just before xmas and it was aimed at kids, so what do you expect.

We know what we're talking about. You've had experiance with one cookie handset. They really are dreadfully unreliable, and then bad thing is it's never the same fault. The software is all over the place.

And for everyone saying they want an arena. Me personally i've sold 7 of them, really really good features ans spec sheet for an lg, but once again every single one of them has been returned and also for all different reasons and not the users fault. The UI is mental, you just don't know where to start, its so hard to use. The quality of lg phone's are really rushed to beat the market as they've proved time and time again.

The only promising handset I can see from lg is the crystal. I've had a play around and i'm really impressed, multi-touch for a start and being able to use the crystal slide-out keypad as a mouse and full interface is fantastic. But we'll give it a few months first just to see how it pans out.

have the black one and it is a great phone for its price an features! and top of the cream .. i've just put Matrix reloaded -the whole highway pursuit, Michael Jackson live in Bucharest and Deathrace,in MP4 format with a resolution of 240 x320 at 15 fps ( convert from dvd format ) .
all i can say is that's watching all this on the cookie is totally weird , amazing , grandiose !!!! clear image with the finest details accompanied with a clear sound and very loud !!! its as if holding an hd tv in your hands ....or we can say holding a mini hd player!! using the phones gives you stereo sound madness..gunshot in the right..breaking glass in the left...and with a simple touch u can choose any scene instantly!!!
depending on your budget u can go whether for the cookie , 5800 ,arena , xperia or I-phone.. but they are all touch screens!
the cookie is perhaps the cheapest but with all the basics functions , with screen autorotate,3 inch display ,compact and solid built an d supporting at least 8gb or more...
but i 'll go for the arena soon because of the 800 x 480 resolution, meaning better mp4 image quality....thank you LG
