Simply there's no strong reason for anyone to go for s5, it's same phone as s4

I could forgive everything in S5, except that pseudo metalic "waved" edging. It looks like a cheap chineese toy made from toxic plastic.

Serves samsung right. They offer cheap plastic phones at premium prices. And bad processor un timely updates and even worst is their customer service and support. I used to be a fan of Samsung and after terrible service i no longer care for samsung. I prefer my current android phone the LG g3. Amazing phone

Aww! Axing JK Shin that quick because of the less than expected sales of the S5?? Thats a quick action plan.. I hope thats not true, JK Shin is part of the reason why Samsung got to the top.

My opinion of Samsung, I loved there phones up until the S2 since then there phones have been getting worse. My friend still has a S2 from new and it works perfect with the occasional lag (expected) but know where near as much as S3 onwards. I don't understand how. But for the Note series I feel they have been getting better. Just one thing please get rid of Touchwiz/Bloatware

Samsung goofed with the s5, especially after it got so much hype for the specs that finally appeared only in the note 4. Not to mention it's being pricey.

In all fairness, i like the alpha better than the s5, but even that is much too expensive for what it's worth. They hit the bullseye with the note 4 though.

Arrogance is d onlii reason for downfall of Sammy. They launched plastic phones after plastic phones despite widespread criticizm from everyone. It seems dat they took d success of S4 and Note 3 too much in the head and dint realise dat d downfall had already begun. D figures of sales in india and china are to go by Sammy might soon be on d path of Nokias slow death. Metal frame Alpha lacks 2 very imp things battery life and Sd Card which fr many is a deal breaker. Samsung should also stop discriminating by using its Inferior chip ( Exynos for Asian markets) and use Snpdragon Chipsets which are way better both in terms of performance and durability.

because the design of s5 is not attractive compared to s4 and s3.

This is what Apple haters always saying, Apple sells with logo. When part of that its true (its called brand), you cant sell "logo" two times, people see if the logo offered the experience they expected.

Samsung has sold with their logo too, but clearly samsung couldnt deliver the experience which customer expected and now their sales are going down by storm.

Have to say im not surprised, iv been reading so many envy samsung fanboys comments in youtube where they cry why iPhone run all the games so well and win all the speedtests even the paper specs arent better than what s5 has.

Yuri84, 24 Nov 2014The one managing TVs may switch to managing phones? I hope not...Hey you never know.. He might decide not to ship the device with all the sBloat and let users decide to install it if they want.
Ok fine.. you want to ship bloat, ship it but atleast put it in the user data partition so that you can uninstall it..

no 1440 screen is understandable at the moment it launches
no 3gb ram is unforgivable, note3 was already 3gb.
what is the meaning of flagship?
it should make dual sim 32g, 64g readily available everywhere.
not just 16g single sim in many markets.
should expect huge price drop for those 5M unsold s5.
i would not buy any one if it is not dual sim 32gb at least.

They did poorly in China cos competition stepped up in an unpredictable way with high spec devices at considerably lower price compared to Samsung. In panic mode Samsung gave birth to more phones, especially the Alpha series leading to worse situations.

They have now calmed down and are going with 2-3 less phone models per month

Sorry Samsung/Google. I am waiting for the next Microsoft Lumia flagship with Windows 10. These are real good phones, not some flimsy, gimmicky, unstable Android junk.

I think this is not surprising. First S5 is ugly. Not the phone itself, but the back cover. Camera is not so impressive neither. The phone has a lot of useless (or marginally useful) sensors, and finally the phone itself is TOO BIG.
S4 was a decent phone, but S5 is the worst direction to develop a phone.
I hope S6 will be smaller, and will have more attractive design (and better build quality and materials).

I don't know about anywhere else in the world but in the UK everyone's on a 2-year contract. Everyone splashed out on the S4 and thus can't renew until 2016. Isn't it obvious why sales have suffered? Plus what are they getting by upgrading? The same horrible Samsung UI!
