AnonD-308243, 05 Dec 2014so u honestly belive that these benchmarks tell the whole s... moreDude, there is something called balance. A person cannot have a 5 feet hand if that person is 5 feet tall. it should not be more than 2 feet, right? That is the balance that people against QHD are talking about.

Display, battery, CPU, GPU all should be aligned to produce a good, consistent performance from a mobile. You cannot have display alone getting ahead of other components (CPU, GPU and most importantly battery) in the mobile, ending up with an awkward user experience.

Samsung did exceptionally well to produce a display with higher resolution still less battery consuming one in Note 4. That is innovation. But that still does not solve the problem of CPU/GPU. They should also be advanced enough (dare i say Apple A8X levels, if you don't like apple then take Tegra K1 level) to provide good consistent performance with that resolution. Once CPU/GPU advances (Apple is the leader here) and other OEMs follow samsung in display technology (with less power consumption), people will be more than happy with QHD displays, I guess.

AnonD-237024, 05 Dec 2014I don't understand why no one wants QHD on smartphones. ... moreNo, QHD is not here to stay.
Of course it will become standard but not for long. 4G is the NEW BIG THING.

To be honest I'm totally fine with 1080p.
But we will see 4K displays in Smartphones before the end of 2015.
QHD is more like a stopgap to 4K.

Both is ridiculous on a Smartphone smaller than 6 niches.
Only if it's a Pentile Matrix, which only has two thirds of the normal amount of pixels.

come on now man. i can give one simple reason to quantify the application of 2K in mobile phones. simply put samsung gave thier 2K a secondary interface as they use it as a vr display in the gear VR and as people claim that this benchmarks are valid i differ mate if u have ever used a vr interface u'll know that a smooth frame rate is key to vr application and the 2k panel on the note 4 does just that. so this tests dont realy mean much. if u can just try the GEAR VR and u'll see that all this claims and benchmark scores dont realy matter. what matter is that. u get satisfaction from what u use the device for. its like depending on another persons approval before u can choose what is best for u and i value my reasoning and judgement better than anyones when it comes to buying what should satisfy my needs hence i say benchmarks are BS as the testing app is based on someone's thoughts of what is good enough. what do u say to that BS. hope u get my stand point here mate

                enjoy.

The QHD 1440p wont handle 60fps at current gpu generation.

it is too soon to rush the QHD to standard.

You dont trust bench test but million-2 human out there are comparing device to device by lookin at benchmark rendering score.....

Actually not the Benchmark is BS(as what you write)....but the QHD it is.

1440p TOTAL waste of gpu power resources.....

Looking solely at the sharpness, the only time i can see any difference is from 5cm on the tiniest web page text and the difference in minute.

Okay, I won't be buying this one - mainly because of the too small screen, 5 inches is not enough for me when I upgrade from M8. Nice to see the camera is finally being upgraded from the terrible 4 megapixel UltraPixel! QHD screen would've been nice as well.

The reason why it looks better for you is because they improved on those aspects too. No one wants qhd because it's consuming significantly more battery, especially when the panel has high pixel density since you need more power to light up the screen (imagine it like bring a finer mesh but the walls are just as thick so less light passes through). Compare the battery test results of the oppo find 7 with the 7a. The difference is like 40%. 40% more battery if you use full HD over qhd. Totally worth it.
