Also, whos producing the 810? If its Samsung whos also producing the 7420 then it perhaps doesnt matter which as both the 810 and 7420 are ARM designs.

The consumer demand? Are you a marketing puppeteer?
Who's demand? I believe that you the expectation that the manufacturers want to impose to consumers. In stead of investing such ridicule efforts to make ever more powerful hardware they should invest in making OS-es as lightweight as possible and as power efficient as possible or make the impossible possible in stead of just putting more hardware and evermore powerful batteries into devices while steeling natural resources in developing countries. This all to please the happy few (seen from a global scale) who want to show a misplaced form of social status.
Don't get me wrong, I'm amazed by what technology has made possible but at the same time I'm not convinced that the very same technology is not used to it's full potential. It seems that manufacturers find it easier to juice up the hardware in stead of tweaking the software.

Only lately they lost a step but Exynos 5433 rapes snapdragon 805 (on both power and efficiency), so they're back on track. Qualcomm is an overrated company they had a good streak for 1-2 years, but their technological midgetry is so obvious, they can't even create (on time) a chip with off the shelf parts.
Samsung has been doing this big.little stuff 2 years before them, Apple has armv8 chips for more than 2 years before them (and so on and so forth). If it was not for the silly American patent system nobody would buy Qualcomm, their bid to fame is their LTE monopoly due to stupid laws. Good riddance I say...

You see, it's quite easy to design a fast core, but that's not good enough for mobile. You don't get the gigantic market share that Qualcomm presently enjoys by churning out faulty or poor-performing products. Snapdragon is still the benchmark for mobile performance, and this is due to the fact that they (wisely) have chosen not to spend their energy maximizing any particular metric to the detriment of others, but instead have produced an extremely good overall package. Low power, reasonably fast performance, a great GPU, and integrated LTE modems. It's tough to beat.

Qualcomm's technological midgetry cannot be the benchmark for apple's supposed excellence. If anything every soc creator can be thought as excellent when compared to Qualcomm. They have a 2.7 ghz core which manages to be slower than every other core out there for goodness sake...

Still they can use Intel Atom or Nvidia Tegra Chipset if required. They are far better than Snapdragon.

If true, these Snapdragon issues really highlight the effort Apple made with the A7. Their introduction of 64-bit mobile computing was seamless by comparison.
At this rate, it will be two years after the A7 by the time the Snapdragon 810 makes it to market. And that's for an off-the-shelf design, not a custom one like Cyclone.

this still sounds like "Rumor", even its true there won`t be any problem to fix this problem in some months, they won`t loose chance to sell their chips to biggest companies like Sony, HTC, LG, Samsung... those rumors of their flagships based on 810, so think a bit if 810 won`t be in production :D well Samsung has a plan (Exynos) but Sony, LG, HTC? i don`t think it can be true that new flagship comes with older or other chipset :D what they`ll use Mediacrap?

So its not a new issue. Apple chipset rules, i remember using my friends iphone 5 as gps for my 8 hr drive to texas, keeping it ON for the whole duration
Just waiting for 1 more year for iphone 6 prices to come down a bit . No chip can beat apple in quality

Qualcomm don't have any competition so if the worst does happen I shall keep my Z Ultra for many years until Qualcomm come back. Sorry but Intel, Samsung and Mediated are no competition for Qualcomm. The industry will be very poor without them.
