I'm not in the least surprised- they are the world leaders in new technology and it's just a simple matter of applying that know-how in products that are sleek and well-designed. Samsung mobile to overtake Nokia? You'd better believe it and it's gonna happen much sooner than all you Nokia fanboys think (

there is something that explains this situation pretty well...
Smart people, who actualy knows how to work with a cellphone and use it's full technies, go for a nokia.
All the rest i can drescribe samsung for dif social classes in few words.
Old People -> Blind -> Samsung Amplifiers
Poor / dumb people -> Samsung is cheap
that's it, there is nothing else samsung can offer that nokia can not. and it pretty much explains the dif on sales from this Q2.

Well done Samsung. It's great to see you doing so well. Your the best out there at the minute!
Why don't all you Nokia fanboys disappear? Why come into a Samsung thread and go on about how great Nokia are? Their phones are mostly badly made cheap rubbish. Samsung are producing quality phones at the minute, mostly at quite reasonable prices!
I agree with GSM Arena, at this rate in a few years Samsung could well take over as the market leaders. Keep up the good work Samsung.

i've owned d820 and u600 and now UltraTouch and i noticed this battery issue. after 2 weeks the battery seems to be working so better than the beginning, but honestly still not like most nokia batteries.
but pleeeeeeeease let me know how you can make firmware updates to the ultratouch, i don't know

I do own OMNIA II(Just bought it on 27/July/2009 at Far East Plaza, Singapore) and Ultra Touch. Previously I am the owner of Pixon.
So I didn't lying anythings.

At beginning, their battery life not that good, after few weeks using, most of it can last longer 3 to 4 days.
For the Tocco Ultra Edition is due to firmware issue, once you updates to latest version, the battery issue is fix.
I own the Pixon (sold due to camera lens issue), Ultra Touch/Tocco Ultra and now Omnia II, so happy with all at the moment. :-)

Samsung are the only company in 2009 showing that they can create all type of handsets an are embarassing Nokia,One think Samsung as just got to improve,is the Batterey Life of there handsets then they will be number 1 soon,as the Tocco Ultra was a good mobile but charging the phone everyday makes this mobile to expensive to Buy an Run
