Don't forget that the res doesn't really effect power drain unless you are dealing in 3D Graphics (running at QHD and not a 1080 res) otherwise, desktop res matters not.

I am saying that Nokia N8 which runs Symbian on a average processor, GPU and got low RAM according to today's standards can multitask with 50 apps and still have some RAM free. So, the point is, Symbian Belle is resource efficient and gets things done with less processing power and low RAM which in turn doesn't take a toll on battery life. :) Here's hoping for Android L to be less hungry on resources.

Moreover, you can't find it in most of the phones. Nokia N8 got a shitty processor and paltry RAM according to today's standards but it can run 50 apps and still have some RAM free. This is how efficient Symbian Belle is.

As much as I hate Apple products I, I have to agree with this statement. Companies spend too much time concentrating on raw power and neglects optimization. Its sad that the average consumer is complaining that their battery won't last a day's of charge.

And its amazing how apple got their team together and start actually manufacturing, for once, a useful chip processor that is quite a leap ahead. If SD wants part in the game they should think "better and more efficient cores, not more cores". Tech giant companies like Sony or (I'm just picking names) should focus on optics and not megappixel count.

                  Better display, not bigger.
                  Efficient cores, nor more.
Not to mention this all boils down to battery technology.

Notice that no one plans to use the 64bit Tegra K1 chip in a phone. That's due to the way to high TDP(Thermal Design Power) to be acceptable in a phone (8-11W) while Apple's A8 processor has a TDP of only 2W. It seems that Qualcomm runned into the same problem as nVidia. The problem stems from the high frequency(2.5 GHz vs 1.4GHz for Apple), chip scale(28nm vs 20nm for Apple), the chip architecture and software(both optimised for eachother in Apple's case). The only possibility for Qualcom and nVidia to scale down the TDP is to reduce the frequency of the chips, since they can't reduce the scales. But that will decrease the performance, meaning the Apple's A8 CPU will reign supreme until the next Apple chip generation. But the Android OEMs are practically toast. H1 means first half of the year(not Q1, first quarter) meaning that the Qualcomm chip will be ready only at the middle of the year, and on the phones only at the end of the year. And remember, that chip will be less powerful than, by that time, one year old Apple A8 chip. And by that time, the new Apple chip will be even more powerfull, and it is possible to be twice as powerfull as the chips on the new Android phones at the time. And this will matter for the buyers!

Snapdragon 810 is a bit slower processor comparing to available 32bit chipsets.. Not every 64bit processor is faster than 32bit processor.

Dear Sony I'm fully ok if you use 805 instead of 810 if 810 overheats, and please pair that with 1080p screen not that qhd chap, again Moar battery.
