LG Fx0 is a transparent phone running Firefox OS

23 December, 2014
The device is destined for KDDI, one of the carriers in Japan, and it understandably won't be cheap.

Anonymous needs to check the actual street price on the FX0. It's currently available on the US Amazon market for $60, and it's a very nice phone. I'm enjoying mine.

Well, only the cover is transparent, beyond that still unable to see the details of the phone. If i can see through all the IC chipsets, wires, connectors, circuit boards... that would be great. So, we need the inner cover also be transparent ;-)

Let's give Firefox the benefit of the doubt. If it can improve the battery life (compared to Android-based phones) of the device, it might just bring the smartphone industry competition to a different level. Many will certainly welcome new developments specially if it means not having to recharge your phone in the next 4-5 days. Let's wait and see. Convince us, Firefox.

I been waiting long time for a fairly good specced Firefox phone (actually Boot2Gecko for me, im not buying any carrier crap and the carrier dependency is what will eventually kill FF OS) but it seems LG is the only one making them and only for carriers.

Firefox seem to be doing everything wrong in bringing their OS out to the people. Super low specced devices that can barely render a simple website, low end cameras with no flash, 256MB RAM (!) and whatever, and then the only decent ones cannot be bought off contracts, duhh...

I know Firefox OS is supposed to work just fine on very low-end hardware, but honestly, I don't believe it does a good job at it. I tried Alcatel OneTouch Fire E in store, and it was laggy. Alcatel Fire S is still waiting to be released. It has approximately the same specs as Fx0, but 1GB RAM, which is a step up from Fire E's 0.5GB; hopefully it will actually help the performance, or Firefox OS 2.0 release will. Because if either of them won't - the future looks very dull for Firefox OS. And I pity the folks who bought all these phones with 128 MB RAM.

Now, this one might be kinda cool phone with Firefox OS which I might actaually want, but why do they use Snapdragon 400 when $99 ZTE Speed released today uses Snapdragon 410? For some reason the hardware of Firefox OS phones is so backwards...

With this " transparent " gimmick trends Firefox is going in Garbage-Box field where some homeless some clothes less people would buy this nonsense stuff happily.

When creativity ends then vulgarity sstarte. This transparent phone would belong to that person who likes to live on inner Garments and has a tailor made hole in front and back of each dress. Nonsense , ugliness is not acceptable in technology.

The phone is not transparent only the case is.
You can't see through it only inside it.

I personally think it's horrendously unattractive. But who cares since it's running Firefox OS. Just like the LG G3, it will probably be selling in the bargain bin in a few months, so if someone actually wants to buy this thing go for it. There's no accounting for taste.

Im into design and believe me this has a huge potential!
You could put a few color leds inside it and make it look like a Christmas tree lol..
Maybe it sounds dumb to you, but think about all the teenagers or Asians, especially Japan. They will go crazy to buy one..
And if you really are a good designer, you can hit the gold mine!
Remember the Nokia 3220? I bought it for the light show when it rang : )
