21 August, 2009
The iPhone is making it really hard not to like it - apparently the latest generation of iPhones - the speedy 3GS can play 1080p video. Yep, 1080p. The software is not fully ready yet but the hardware is. So, are we...

hello, I always use leawo video converter, and found it is so good as other ones, and it is more faster than them.

Well, i know another good way to play 1080P movies on iPhone 3G/4G. Using Pavtube Video Converter(http://www.pavtube.com/video_converter) to recode 1080P to 480P for iPhone cause it can maintain original quality. Besides, it still can transcode 1080P movies in incompatible formats like MKV to mov or mp4 for playback on iPhone.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2009Do you know that 1280x720 pixels resolution required around... moreWell I use AirVideo to stream my videos to my iPhone but I havent tested the wireless speed to see if its capable of sustaining a HD 1080 video. If it CAN, then that would take care of the storage issue required for holding HD videos on the iPhones self imposed meager memory constraints.

All of you who posted "screen too small" or "drains battery" are completely ignorant. My 3gs plays 1080p out to HDTV and I can put most movies I want into var/mobile/library/downloads on my phone. I can plug my phone into a HDTV and play the movies saved within in HD. The phone is charging while it's playing and the iphone screen has controls but no picture (essentially becomes the remote.) You guy's need to pull your heads out.

A 1080p video file is nowhere near 1GB per minute. Blu-ray's would be limited to 50 mins if that was the case..

Do you know that 1280x720 pixels resolution required around 1 GB for 1 minute video? With 32 GB storage it's only about 30 min of recording for god sake, not even a half of a movie. So please stop making stupid comments...

720x480, 30fps, 100k bitrate (video),500 bitrate (audio), it is does not lag.
iPhone just 10+k video bitrate, and lower resolution can spread the news to many website... Wth...zzz

If the iphone 3gs can do it, then probably other phones can also do it. The 3gs has a 600 mhz cpu, but even 1000 mhz is available on the tg01

Just convert your downloaded movies into a recognizable format? How hard is that? Use itunes or some other free conversion tool such as handbrake.

ffs..!!! seriously, eight pages of random comments nearly all missing the point.. the mind numbing idiocy of (some)people who just argue without thinking makes me want to plant my head forcefully into a hard surface :/

... it plays and outputs 1080 (i/ or p doesn't matter).. and its not whats displayed on the phones screen thats the point.. its what it's plugged into and viewed on.. TV/monitor/projector what ever.. just like carrying your film collection and dvd/blueray player around with you.. not quite as good but brilliant for some thing thats primarily designed to make phone calls...

                        ...meh....

All you people saying component isn't capable of 1080p are just, well, wrong...completely. It is 100% capable of outputting at 1080p. Before HDMI was created, component or a VGA cable were the only way to achieve this. But you're all falling for the Hollywood mind control system, as everyone always does. So repeat after me:

Component is completely capable of outputting at 1080p but Hollywood won't let their players do so because you can copy movies MUCH easier with it. It's an artificial restriction

This phone appeared recently in Romania, and 1 week ago, this phone exploded in the hand of a girl. The second case was in France, same thing. Apple said that it exploded because of the heat. But was a pure lie. Even so, how many mobile phones from others producers exploded because of "the heat" ...really now, do you believe this lie ? ..cause I don't.

component can handle 1080p , but the movie studios and hardware manufactures know its impossible to protect against piracy so they went with HDMI / DVI with HDCP ( HIGH DEFINITION COPYRIGHT PROTECTION )to prevent piracy !!!!!
know your facts before you post nonsense !
and who cares if it can do 1080p etc as its never going to make a difference on a 3.5" screen !
and if you want to output it to a hdtv ,just stop..... think about it.... and go but a blu-ray player !!!!!!
iphone is still the best all in one device !
