Microsoft have said that all phones running on wp8 or higher will get windows 10. Some hardware related features will be absent from older phones but they will get the update.
What happen to wp7 was sad but they could not get wp8 update. Its like only Blu ray dvd roms can only play Blu ray discs and others cannot.

I have no insider info but it is very clear that if the Lumia 435 which is intended to be the lowest priced and most basic Windows Phone is equipped with 1GB RAM, this is the minimum required for Windows 10. This is a race for the cheapest so if 512MB RAM will do that will be the RAM given. But continue to hope. If I am holding a 512MB phone I would think like you too.

GSMArena, you should stop bringing a topic that is already cleared. Microsoft will bring Windows 10 to all mobile devices. You shouldn't make something that is clear already into a doubt anymore.
Dear all, it's just fair that the first ones got the update are the most modern devices, but stay sure that every devices are going to get it!

Microsoft already said all Windows Phone 8 devices will get Windows 10. Why people don't understand this? All Windows Phone devices run only Snapdragon SoCs and same interface make it easy to update OS.

Lumia 520 and 630 may be the dominant devices in the WP arena, but you've already pointed out the excuse: they were made by Nokia, which no longer sells devices under that brand name.
Sony did the same thing when going from SonyEricsson to Sony.
With all that said I guess the only question is:
How stupidly low can Microsoft get?
Hopefully it's nothing other than a lame attempt to get praise (afterwards) for doing what were paid to do: update the friggin' devices!
