Hello there,
I work in a mobile store and we are partners with Samsung over here...People bring their "Stars" every single day to warranty because of short battery liftime, slowish software and other problems...It's not a surprise they sold so many units given the affordable price that this handset has,but otherwise consumers should consider more before purchasing this handset. Greetings!

[deleted post]I've seen many Sony chips in other brands.

Each manufacturer has its areas of expertise and it's not unusual (for economics) to purchase from someone else.

if one comment here represents 100,000 pcs of samsung star sold, then it must reach 100 comment to hit 10,000,000 pcs.
It's already 50 comments meaning 5 million pcs as it was announced.
              so let's see.. :p

Hongdolaxi, 28 Aug 2009Why do you concer if it's smartphone or not? it's doesn't m... moreDo you even know what is a smartphone? The biggest different between a smartphone and a non-smartphone is that a smartphone can be highly modify and support a large amount of programs while a non-smartphone usually can't. So why don't we concern about is it a smartphone?

Here is another proof that a phone with the right price and 'in' features will become a mega-seller! Well done, Samsung.

You know what i want to see? I want to see Samsung or LG, come out with there own version of a phone that is similar to the n97/HTC touch pro 2 with the tilting screen with full keyboard.

I love that form factor it really comfy to use. They will probably end up doing it to...........i hope
