Reason being is that the smaller die allows processes to reach their point of destination quicker because of the smaller footprint. Anandtech talks about this in a blog posted on their site.

I understand it's possible but that is the case with any LCD/LED display if the still image is there for any serious length of time.

I have owned the S1, S3 and S4 now without any issues of the 'burn'.

Super AMOLED is one of the main reasons I buy the S series.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2015Where did Anadtech confirm such a news? Here is one :
                http://www.anandtech.com/show/8846/lg-g-flex-2-handson-impressions
"This meant that it wasn’t possible for us to properly benchmark the device, and there seemed to be more lag in the UI than the LG G3 or Nexus 5. In addition, these demo phones were running in poor conditions for benchmarks, as maximum brightness was constantly reduced due to thermal throttling."

Benchmarks are good, but beyond a certain point any addition of benchmarks is only technically significant and practically the customer feels no difference. Now what matters is price and the device should not heat up during use. ( meaning too hot to handle)
Imagine making a video and the phone gets so hot that it looks as if the processor may burn out. !!

The new snapdragon is using big little architecture without any custom cores? There's no reason for Samsung to use it because exynos is basically the same product.

                              E7420: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/1778702
                              SD810: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/1708160

As you see the Exynos 7420 wins by a wide margin.

No disrepect to Qualcomm, they just need to concentrate on the over heating issue with all Snapdragons

Could also be HTC, seeing that all M9 benchmarks we've seen feature MTK processors.

AnonD-324565, 29 Jan 2015This is the year Sammy fallsthey fell last year, however this year will determine how long they'll keep falling. if the S6 is lackluster on design, UI, performance, and how well the camera performs. I'm guessing they'll probably slip for a while. It takes a few years to turn things around, and they recently announced that new designer hire. I have a feeling that the design cues of the S6 won't have changed significantly and with the supposed choice of a 2K screen they're already making a bad choice. Could choosing their in-house Exynos proc over Qualcomm's SD 810 be a bad choice? Maybe. On the development side it seems the community prefer's Qualcomm due to better documentation.
