Samsung is on the way down for some time and the figures prove that. The S6 is not going to give them the result they're hoping for.
Succes comes and goes in waves and Samsung's wave is now on the way down.

Micromax, Karbonn,Lava and even the overpriced iPhone6 are strictly midrange.
Despite the term midrange these phone would have been top of the range just 4 years ago in 2011.
There is a point where the majority simply do not need top of the range phones, and these satisfy people and these mid range phones are more than adequate for those whose this is their first smart phone.
Smartphone are continually getting better, and have already been passed by someone who regularly buys Samsung.
Again looking at Micromax and comparing it to the first ever iPhone which came out in 2007 you see the upgrade these phones offer above the best specs 2007 had.
Samsung is an international company its price set globally.
Xiaomi in China, Micromax in India both national companies which and do supply at prices than Samsung
Just simple economics why pay more for a Samsung, when Micromax offer the same for much less..
It's NOT that if available in the UK Micromax were available, it is that my phone already has better specs
You only have to look at China becoming Apples largest market, after the launch of the iPhone6, the high price, nor the fact that it is NOT the best specs available, it has sold in the millions.
Of the few phones that are bargain basement in Eastern markets then become available in the UK, the price increases sharply, so being international makes phones more expensive
People will pay a high price if they want that phone but if an alternative is available you get that.
If you want an iPhone you have to buy Apple to say you own an iPhone so NOT I dislike Samsung, more I have an alternative to Samung

people trying to defend Sammy are pretty stupid.... its not about how cheap a phone is, its all about being a VFM product. VFM 'Value for money' is the most important. not everyone wandering streets with bag full of freakin black money.
Micromax trying pretty hard and finally its the boss as expected. at least micromax do not cheat Indians like Sammy does with its products of insane pricing with downgraded hardware, crappy processors.

Do they knew... moreyour micromax lava karbonn xolo xiaomi all brands phones are garbage phone they will sell at 10k just to fool peoples and nothing...samsung is brand for quality good service centre and they are trusted brand...if you buy 15-18k phones from samsung it will last for 2 yrs but if you buy micromax xiaomi it will not last for 6 months also because of poor quality and performance...just see flipkart people has given negative comments about xiaomi not samsung...so dont laugh all are waste and cheap brands....

Cheap phones for cheap people. These Micromax, Lava, Xolo, Lenovo are meant for for auto drivers and students with no money. Obviously they will sell more. When they can sell cheap waste devices for less than 10k, why would poor people buy anything for 30/40k for Samsung or 50k for Apple? There is no point competing against Micromax, there is simply no margin in such cheap low end devices.
You won't find Anandtech ever doing a review of Micromax mobile, there's nothing to review for such devices. Only reason they sell anything is not beacuse of quality, they sell beacuse they are cheap.
