I think a lot of you have a wrong perception on why Indonesians like to buy the newest / coolest phone such as showing off, a social status etc. I think those complains are just sour grapes. The answer could be simplier; they have the money and they enjoy newer phone. Isn't it the same in the U.S. where people queue up days before the launch of an iPhone?

giselle, 02 Oct 2009seriously people...between E71 and E72, which 1 do you guys... morethe CPU is fatser it's 600 Mhz which will make it much better .. also the E72 menu system is different than the E71 & similar to E52 u'll have windows live messenger build it which ofcourse u can't have in E71 also u'll have N-Gage games .. the maps are different in E72 it will be powered by Ovi & from comparing my two phones E52 & E71 the E52 is faster in moving the map from Area to another i guess E72 will be same as E52 since it has the same CPU & same Ovi map, plus E72 will have a compass which E71 doesn't. The camera will be a 5MP i nthe E72 while the E71 has a 3.2 MP only. Regardless the MP's i wish that the Quality of the camera will be like the E52 which is amazing in video clips .. if u compare E52 & E71 which both have a 3.2 MP u'll see a big difference of quality between them i can show u what i mean & upload u 2 video's from both phones.

Nokia's phone have had cut, copy and paste for years.. Even the non-E or N series has it..
Btw, does e72 really sucks that bad that Indonesians who bought it during the pre-sale are already selling it or you guys are exaggerating much??

Does it have cut copy and past. its very difficult to work without it. it helps a lot in number/ messages addresses etc. Even the sony ericsson P910i had it - nokia needs to work on that aspect asap. i cant believe they(nokia) have not figured out how useful it is - what with all the market research etc!!

bwahahahhahaha people who bought the phones during the pre-launch in Ritz-Carlton Jakarta eventually sell the phones back in the internet with a mark up of at least 25% from its original pricing.

I get E71 for 336 US $ in India. Is 480 US $ for E72 worth it. Those all fancy connectivity options will get outdated by the time things truly get operationalised in 3G market.

John, 17 Sep 2009I am an expat living in Jakarta and a few metres from the R... moreNow see, now there is difference of culture. Here in Sweden the shops sell Nokias like crazy, and thet goes for most European countries. And i don't know one businessman or worker that doesn't have Nokia E or N series. See that must be why we are an succesfull industrial people. And if you need a phone to look cool that you are in desperate need of a much much better social life, i'm sorry to say.

I am an expat living in Jakarta and a few metres from the Ritz and Mall Ambassador where you will find hundreds of second hand E71's for sale. So much for retained value. But you will find several new Blackberry shops in Mall Ambassador always full of customers while the Nokia shops are devoid of customers. Indonesia has been said to be Nokia's largest market but it is certain not for the top end mobiles where if you dont have a Blackberry you are not seen to be cool or wealthy or a business person. Even family members now have Blackberries so the E72 has its time cut out for itself.

Why Indonesia? I heard that E90 also launched fist time in Indonesia, so this E72. I'm Indonesian, probably coz we're in Indonesia thinks that cell-phone is a way of life that showed the social economics status of the owner, although we never use the phone capability optimally, just for pride only...well, like it or not, thats Indonesia, a poor country with a big appetite of cell-phone. LOL
