Lets remember only recently was Android 1.6 was announce/released. Only in 1.6 does it support all types of resolution including WVGA and beyond which wasn't possible before. I'm not suprised HTC hasn't made a super device for Android. Let's not forgot it can take upto 2+ years to create an awesome smartphone. There will be phones like this or even better ones for Android. I'm sure it's in the development process...

I have a strong feeling though that this phone isn't gonna be subsidized anytime soon, so you should expect something around $700-750.

In a good comparison to the iPhone, the OS that the HTC phones take on is very similar, and is not a bad thing at all. The TouchFLO interface is focused on improving the user-experience the same way that Apple does in their iPhones. That's the point he's trying to make.

It's a great phone. Perhaps we can't compare its OS to the one iPhone has, or we must not compare an iPhone to HTC different model. Anyway it's the technology, every company copy from the other, and maybe we can not expect much, so what we see on computers we see it now in phones. Its Os is different than iPhone, this is true, but the os of this HTC, as a design, and from the pictures I saw, looks very much similar to iPhone OS, while Windows mobile on Xperia 1 running the same OS on this HTC is not similar at all to iPhone software. Anyone noticed this? And why?

sorry, but I forgot to put Nokia N900 in there...
With the current competition it falls, wait for it.... on 4th place!!!
Why? due to having a smaller resistive screen unlike the top 3, and must be operated Landscape at ALMOST all times, but it does have that powerfull Cortex A8 processor (which at expense of lesser speed, has better GPU and battery life), huge 1GB RAM (when counting all that virtual memory), and of-course that new Maemo Open Linux operating system (thou not known how actually useful in real terms it would be)
Nokia N97, however, would not even make it to top 20....

                                      U r all welcome,

Anyways here r the current standings:
based on world's most powerfull, feuture rich devices...
                                        1) Samsung I8910 HD due to its 16 milion colour capacitive multi-touch capable AMOLED display, Cortex A8 processor, DNSe 2.0 with 5.1 channel surround sound, 8 megapixel camera with HD recording and playback, and BIG battery life!
2)Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 with snapdragon processor, Google android 2.0 (Éclair), 4 inch capacitive multi-touch display, 8 mega pixel camera, and BIG battery.
                                        3) Acer F1 with Windows Mobile 6.5, AMOLED display, snapdragon processor, 5 mega pixel camera and more compact in size!
                                        tied with -
HTC Leo with Windows Mobile 6.5, 4.3 capacitive multi-touch display, snapdragon processor, and same 5 mega pixel camera.

Soooo, in other words - not too shabby!!.. If it releases quite early in Fall, then this might actually be the WORLD'S 3RD BEST PHONE out there!!! ^.^
If not however, it might fail against other upcoming Toshiba snapdragon devices like TG02, and K01 coming this FALL, and the Samsung's First NVidia Tegra phone that is still expected by this Christmas!!

                                        Cheers
