If u guys complaining about Leo not havvin Android and 1 generation old camera (carried over from HTC Touch HD), then maybe u should consider Sony Xperia X3 with Google Eclair (2.0), improved 8 megapixel camera, and actually quite MORE COMPACT than this phone!!

just a suggestion.... ^.^

Well Microsoft plans to fix this, but not even to our discretion, because they won't let 3rd party apps on the Zune until they feel ready to. That's pretty weird...

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2009The guy who posted the Endgadget stuff. The point is it ... moreYes. Microsoft dips it's feet in too many mediums. Is that a bad thing? No, if you know what you're doing. Currently Microsoft doesn't, and they need to pull those mediums together so that their focus becomes more clear. However I do believe they will able to pull themselves together by the end of the year. I'm hopeful that they will at least =).

The point is it shows how disorganized Microsoft is, they have WinMo over here and the Zune (running another version of WinMo) over their.

Instead of combining their efforts to provide the best solution for consumers they have bits split up all over the place.

This will just be further compounded when WinMo 7 is released giving three different platforms for developers to make applications for and that's not counting WinMo 6 and 6.1 legacy devices.

No wonder WinMo is rapidly losing market share, Microsoft has no focus, they have no organization.

...oh that's right I can't the only applications available are free (Ad supported Microsoft one's.

Nvidia Tegra has nothing whatsoever to do with Nvidia's graphics card, it;s an ARM 6 rather mediocre compared to the later generation ARM 8's, maybe that's why developers aren't free to submit applications.

Could pay $99 (non refundable) to submit an application to the WinMo marketplace but if it's free how would I get the money back?

with all these improvements on the winmo platform, i wouldnt mind staying until winmo 7 comes out later.

Perhaps I should have been specific, I was talking about the commentors, not the articles. But hey, let's address this article so I can once again have a reason to repeat myself.

"Nothing seems to be taking advantage of the horsepower just yet, and truthfully we felt that loading and closing times for even the simplest of applications were longer than they should be. Of course, this is a platform in the earliest stages of infancy, so we expect better things down the road."

Oh wait, that part pretty much addresses itself. lol.

"One item that bears mentioning: Microsoft is sticking interstitial ads on the player when you load applications. It's a bit jarring and a bit off-putting to see an advertisement on your device when you're trying to get into an app, and we think the company may want to investigate some other options here -- it just feels sleazy."

As the COMMENTORS would know, they clearly explain the ads situation. Maybe, just maybe you should read down past the article into the comments section. There you'll find the people reviewing that issue on the Zune HD. Of course you'll probably pull

The ads are not that serious. They've always had ads on the Zune games that are available to the 1st and 2nd gen devices. They are shown while the game loads so they don't even take extra time, plus they are only pictures. I know I've seen some apps on the iPhone that had ads at the bottom or top of the screen which is far more annoying."

As for as the web browser is concerned. Yes it's crap =D. That's IE for you.

"For starters, you can download a free calculator, weather app, and a smattering of games for the PMP. Nothing seems to be taking advantage of the horsepower just yet, and truthfully we felt that loading and closing times for even the simplest of applications were longer than they should be. Of course, this is a platform in the earliest stages of infancy, so we expect better things down the road. The big M has promised "3D gaming" -- which we know the Tegra is more than capable of -- so it's possible the company will choose to aim more enterprise-oriented software towards the Windows Phone platform, keep hardcore gaming orbiting the Xbox, and go after that casual market for the ZHD (which Apple is currently cleaning up on). Regardless, the Zune HD OS seems ripe for richer content, even if the device's awkward place in the Microsoft lineup doesn't make that prospect as simple as it should be.

One item that bears mentioning: Microsoft is sticking interstitial ads on the player when you load applications. It's a bit jarring and a bit off-putting to see an advertisement on your device when you're trying to get into an app, and we think the company may want to investigate some other options here -- it just feels sleazy.

Beyond the application situation, there's also the small matter of the web browser which the Zune HD ships with. Built upon the existing mobile Internet Explorer, but sufficiently tweaked, we found it to be mildly useful, though sorely lacking in key features. It's clear that Microsoft had some trepidation about putting anything too robust out there. The browser renders pages nicely and utilizes pinch zooming like a champ, but there are no tab options, no history, and hardly any navigational elements at all. Additionally, the performance on page loading and rendering wasn't even in the same league as most webkit-based mobile options (Android browser, iPod touch / iPhone, Pre). Forget about YouTube or other rich media as well -- it's just not happening here. On the plus side, the included on-screen keyboard is surprisingly accurate, and we're not-so-secretly hoping that we see this QWERTY pop up on future Windows Mobile devices -- it's actually quite good. But good keyboards notwithstanding, at the end of the day the browser is still barebones... no matter how smoothly it renders pages."
