I've owned the nexus 4 and 5 and recently switched to the iPhone 6 plus. I may get a new nexus but having it made by huwaui??? I'm not sure if I'll spend money on something and walk down the road with some random Chinese company with a nexus logo. Google should team up with something that has a brand recognition

I suggest this specs for new coming Nexus.
Chipset...Snapdragon 1000 - 1nm technology- 32core 10GHz - Adreno 800 GPU with 500 cores
Display...UUHD - 24000x16000 resolution
Memory... 48 GB RAM and 8000 GB internal memory.
Camera... 200 MP camera with 1000x optical zoom and 48000P video recording.
Body... 5" Completly flexible body with 0.1 mm thickness and 1g weight.
Facilities... Real human sense and behavior simulation i.e Can drive your car, do your homework, care your baby, play your games and take the place of your gf or bf.

I think Huawei would make a premium but low cost android one successor and LG will make the nexus flagship

They should go with moto again but this time for a "mini" device. Maybe 5 inches 1080p with one of the newer snapdragons.
Then with HTC or LG for a full 5.7 inch QHD or 2k screen with whatever snapdragon will offer by the end of the year (SD 815?) Also throw in a fingerprint sensor, stero speakers and a couple o other 'gimmicks' to make the ultimate device.

It could be a good decision Huawei built their phone very well. Al they need is to get rid of their proprietary CPU.I still feel that anything grater than 70mm wider is difficult to handle in single hand. A 5" screen will be perfect enough.

Google should partner with Xiaomi instead of Huawei for next Google Phone.
Google should offer 2 FULL HD display sizes: 5.25" and 6.25".
Google 5.25" to compete iPhone 6 and 6.25" to compete iPhone 6+.

I prefer Google Play Editions of Chinese Devices rather than Nexus device from Huawei or Oneplus, may be Xiaomi will be a better partner to choose for this experiment.

Every year you change your partner making the product! Not sure what sort of strategy is this? What is the purpose of Nexus devices if Google could not settle down with a vendor which can provide consistent experience, support,spare parts etc..?No one would buy Google Products fearing of service and support.
