Hoping that a 2015 Nexus 7 is based off of the new MediaPad X2. Would love a 7" smartphone.

mary, 04 Mar 2015Huawei, They really only make cheapy phones. I don't know a... moreIf the rumors are true, then we will have a choice of two Nexus devices to choose from...maybe a model from Huawei (with the P8 as template) and another one from LG (probably with the G4 as template).
With that said..i will still rather see HTC make the next Nexus, they have more than proven their chops for quality devices (just no logo bar or Huge bezels allowed).

Savor, 05 Mar 2015Huawei has been getting better since 2013. But LG again for... moreIf you are having a hard time separating the purpose of Android One (that features low-end Mediatek chipsets, cheap parts and manufacturers) from the purpose of the Nexus line (that features high-end Snapdragon chipsets and the latest of everything) then I must dare to say you must not look any further than yourself.

Huawei has been getting better since 2013. But LG again for the higher-end?
But was is the point if the Nexus program anyway esp for developing countries? What's the point when Google only sells it to certain countries and they offer Android One to them? Having stock Android is no big deal thanks to Android One, so what is really the point between Nexus and Android One? Why need a lower end Nexus by Huawei when other OEM's might offer far cheaper Android Ones.

htc has the first nexus in 2010,samsung had the S & LG had few
moto has the 6 which came out last year
only reason why they didnt choose sony is becuz they are on there way to bankruptcy, they have closed down there stores & cut off some of there line up (i heard they no longer make pcs)
with the chinese market rising & companies blooming, google will make a move sooner or later
huawei is the biggest phone makers in china & they also have networking stuff/equipment, so this should be a no brainer to choose them
FYI: i have had bad experience with huawei, so i tell this phone isnt going to be a high end model

Honestly, if Google truly wants tp make a 'High-end' Nexus - priced similarly to the Nexus 6 - then it should partner with Sony. Would be well-deserved shot in the arm for both Nexus and Xperia.
Huawei, is a good choice for a cheaper Nexus, they have great build and features, but the in-house Kirin chips tend to be mid-range at best. Xiaomi on the other hand always offers the best of the best, but they won't use Google Android, they use miui, maybe google can convince Huawei to use a Kirin SoC on the same power level as the s810..
