29 September, 2009
Following yesterday's press release dialogue between Orange and O2 on the matter of O2 losing iPhone exclusivity in the UK, Vodafone are also joining in on the discussion by just announcing that they have...

                This comes down to usability.

Nokia sells the most smart phones but figures like this show that people aren't using the smartphone features.

Let me just also add that I seriously doubt anyone but fanboys would care about if their phone lead the mobile browsing race. That's like caring about which company makes the best wrapper that toilet paper comes in. It's a big deal, kids =P.

This is the intelligent, constituted response I was hoping for, instead of dealing with those annoying iFans. You picked the iPhone because it has very good choices and features, and not because of company worship. Every phone has flaws, but at least you can compromise on them. That's what I like in a phone user =].

I have an Omnia HD and I hate the fact that you can't multitouch. I loved that feature on the iPhone and other capacitive-screen phones. I am happy with this normality however, because it has other pluses. I am definitely looking forward to Nokia's take on multitouch capacitive devices, with the X6. It looks to be a great competitive entry =).

You will notice that every mobile phone maker is releasing new devices on a regular basis. This isn't because they have a warchest of cash to dispose of; it is to try and keep ahead of the competition. Apple, despite releasing the 3GS, have kept the same look since 2007.

Anonymous, 30 Sep 2009bugless XD your too loyal to apple stop sucking steve jobs ... moreWell i didn't say bugless. It has least bugs out of any phone os, barr non-smartphones. and the fact that you can double tap to zoom; you're narrow minded and uninspiring dude. The fact you don't have to double tap free's up that function for a different feature, think about it. If touchscreens are going to progress, then technology like this is the way we move forward ignoramous. Just because your phone doesn't have multi-touch doesn't mean it's no good.

Imagine spending hundreds of pounds on a touch tablet and you can't multi-touch!! You'd be peeved off, and thats because your paying for the next technology. Not having multi-touch means your more limited than not having multi-touch in lehman's terms

I think you should downgrade your phone, you obviously dnt undertand technology.

My original post stated that Apple were the big winners here, and also to try and encourage them to update their design.

I also agree that the Storm is terrible, but the Bold or Curve are a credit to RIM and signifies their intention to move with the times. Perhaps Apple should take note and do the same.

I spend a lot of time dealing with complaints about that POS, we send them off, Blackberry replaces them and the customers come back a few weeks later with the same complaint.

Eventually quite a few get iPhone's and we never see them again.

No-one wants Android phones, you pull them out in front of the average customer and it's like "meh, where are the iPhone's?".

Maybe among phone geeks Android has some relevance but they probably would have bought a WinMo phone anyway.

Even the N97 is a hard sell, a few years ago people couldn't get enough of the flagship N-series phones but now they just don't care.

The N96 was just a big flop, I think Nokia would like to forget they ever made it.

It will only be a matter of time before they start looking for the next fashion accessory. iPhone run the risk of losing a loyal customer base because of their reluctance to employ a new design. We are already seeing this with the emergence of the Blackberry or Android phones.
