seems lollipop turned out way more buggy than the already unreliable early kitkat. 4.4.4 is probably the most stable android build right now.

So all the Sammy fan boys out there, there is a reason why Sony are taking their time with lollipop. This is what happens when you rush an update through.

Issues with the OTA update process? and only in Norway, Really?
I have installed the OTA update on my S5 in the UK, and it is the worst update I have seen to date. Everything stutters, apps randomly crash (albeit in the background). This reminds me of the 2.3.3 Gingerbread update on the Xperia X10 days, completely destroying the phones user experience, which I thought was a one time freak occurrence, never to be repeated in this day and age.
Anyone with the update, just pull your notification bar down and scroll through it a few times, up and down, the stutters are unbearable, and all for the total gain of what exactly? Not a single thing.
And the new card stack task switching, so primitive, can anyone here tell me the benefits? Especially having the chrome tabs also showing in the stack? This may be acceptable for the person opening a tab or two, but what about those of us who at any one time have 20+ tabs simultaneously in use, for things that we are working between, where saving bookmarks is not an alternate solution.
Anyway, I shouldn't have to point out how bad the update is, yet there is no mention of those issues here on GSMArena, even though the issue is extensively mentioned in the comment area of other blogs where users have updated and reported back. This is meant to be a flagship device, and breaking the OS through an update, days before the release of the next version of the device, is the worst move I can think of. If this is done in the name of forcing users to update from a once buttery smooth S5 to the S6, then I think many users will have to re-evaluate their options, as no one deserves to have this tampered/diminished user experience forced upon them in lure of being rewarded with updated features, which in reality are packaged in a web of performance issues.

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2015Consumers wont stop buying brands like samsung, sony, htc an... moreBecause that's what makes Android, Android.
"Be together, not the same."
Let's face it, not everybody wants to be using stock Android, and that's coming from a stock Galaxy S4 user who uses the GPe ROM.

Over here the people seem to be doing ok with lollipop on their S5 with some bugs but it's more to do with residue problem after upgrading from KK which they solved it.

Wish I hadn't jumped on the upgrade so fast.
I have an s5 with encrypted file system.
Before the update, everything was snappy. Now all actions are slow and sometimes the phone stalls for 15 seconds or more.
The pop up notifications cover the top apps that I am using. I think it's got something to do with the lock screen notifications.
I get the "Contacts have Stopped" message many times a day.
The new running apps UI is horrible. Most of the time that I try to hit the x to kill the app, it winds up opening back up.
Having to go to the running apps to switch chrome tabs is frustrating because it's hard to pull up the correct tab
My battery drains twice as fast now.
