Any smart phone without
1) slider key board
2) Stylus input
3) Dual SIM
4) Common USB Charger
5) Dual Camera

will not be really cutting edge and great... hence this will always remain a good phone and not a great one.
Come on HTC , NOKIA , APPLE SE - Which one of you will creat this masterpiece.

The Greatest will have a Torch (Led Flash as a torch ) and a mini projector too.

Leon, 07 Oct 2009I just can't wait for this phone and the N900 to be release... moreThank you. At least someone got my point. Sid, maybe you can ask Leon to further explain his points to you. You'd be stupid packing 12MP camera, TV-out, xenon flash, 1500mAh battery, dual booting android/WinMo, flux capacitor, etc et, all into one phone. That would be suicide for your future roadmap and you're left with 0 customers' anticipation for the next phone.

mobile companies earn a profit through horizontal integration. They do this by releasing different phone at different market segments (ranging from bargain to high-end). The technology and functions that you see in phones coming out in the market right now have been refined in R&D labs years ago, so to answer your (and everyone's) idiotic question as to why they dont include this, or have this, or add that, well Jimmy, it's called business. You don't let everything out of the bag, and if you do, you're an idiot.

For instance, take a look at Apple's iphone line. Very little changes from the first gen to the now 3GS, yet profit are still growing. Why? Because these little changes are what matter to normal users. HTC is not going to lose sleep because people whine and cry over a 5MP camera, they're not going to lose sleep over the battery that's capable of handling 2 days of usage, they're not going to lose sleep because people want AMOLEDs.

The fact that you cared so much to voice your displeasure over one phone not meeting all your criteria give HTC (and others) enough confident in knowing that they will always have someone out there to buy their products in a different market segment.

    Class dismiss.

I just can't wait for this phone and the N900 to be release, it's a tough decision but the HD2 seems to be in favor because of it's faster processor, well I think that we should just accept the phone as it is, not dread about having a OLED, bigger battery and all those stuff...

Get an extra battery if you think it's not enough, look for other phones, complaining is pointless...

Anyway I wonder if the battery would be a problem as it has a monster as a processor hence I guess you don't really push the battery as it's seldom we use up that much processing power? anyone have a theory I am trying to make sense.

If all phones come up with the latest technology, it would be hard for companies to keep up with new stuff, phones 15 years ago displays B&W with no camera, nowadays you can pop by a 7-11 shop and get a decent mobile with camera and colored screen for less then $100 ... if all companies came up with the latest stuff it would only mean having the price go low faster and needing to come up with more stuff... if you get what I am saying ...

Anyway I am residing in my small red dot Singapore, and waiting for this phone =D

          Cheers,
          Leon

Andy, 07 Oct 2009This same exact device with the new Android would be great.... moreWhat is an application store???

Handango and Pocketgear have been there for quite some time. If you want something for the Irookie, then so be it.

This same exact device with the new Android would be great. It should be better with Android's application store. What really made the Iphone was the applications store. Without a good application store from Windows this new device is pretty much far behind the competition.

with all this kind of techie devices with bigger screen, decision of 1230 Mah battery is joke with end users. One side HTC is bringing high speed internet on pocket, another side this device will stop working after 3-4 hrs. what's more important on mobile- Communication or Data?

Excellent Specification and a real great screen size, will be good for internet surfing. This phone has everything.
The only thing missing is a hardware keyboard and the battery power is a bit limited for such monster device.
                    Well Done HTC......8-))

Anonymous, 07 Oct 2009I work in IT so gadgets, electronics, and mobiles are just ... morer u from Mars? I just gave an example of what has been accomplished by a very small remote company who never even sold a phone till date. I by no means accept a heavy brick like that, but Kudos to those MIUTech guys who made it happen.

I mean you are like the guys at B*berry n Palm who have been into smartphones all the while but couldn't come up with anything like an iPhone and let Apple take the trophy. I believe u work for 1 of these big giant firms who are running a risk of extinction if you dont get ur act together. If you are really into "future is now", then u will see that a phone was just a phone in "That 70s Show". Well, today a phone is an internet/social networking device for ppl on the GO...

No offence meant, just clarifying my prev post.

wifi router turns your phone into a wifi hotspot so you (and whoever) can access internet from your laptop.
