SE can be one of the best in camera terms (serie Cybershot, others series lacks), but still not compare with samsung or nokia in terms of functionality.
Besides their ports aren't universal and they're slow in multitasking. Samsung is the king today with the OMNIA HD and NOKIA N900 is close to that idea.

Too bad it hit the shelves after Samsung announced the W880 AMOLED 12M... The Satio is obsolete even before it started selling.

Also, we are almost in 2010 friends. A smartphone, I feel, should utilize widgets. Check out the video for the phone in the preview. Everyone, even manufacturers know that although Symbian is very stable and fast, it is also very deep in its menus and can be a pain to do simple tasks like change the wallpaper. For this, companies are throwing their own interface over Symbian and I honestly think that Samsung got it correct with its multiple screes and many widgets. SE, did an ok job of spicing up the otherwise mundane Symbian look, but it is still functioning like a non-smart phone and many clicks have to be made to dive deep into the phone's capabilities. Wouldn't it be much easier to have a widget on the home screen that displays the info you need or takes you immediately to an application rather than a tab button that takes you to a broader menu?

With 2 GHz Processor, 5.0" AMOLED Capacitive touchsreen, 16 billion colour screen, TV Transmitter, 4G, 128 GB Internal Memory, 3x Optical Zoom Camera, only 50 gr weight. And they bought it only $100. So this Satio phone already outdated before its launch.

I really do like SE despite them making several marketing blunders in the past. And I think this phone would be perfect for my wife and I since we take a lot of indoor photos. However, like the other high-end SE phones I've had in the past, I really don't like the sliding lens cover since it often slides open in my pocket. I found myself "babying" the phone in and out of my pocket and this actually drove me to my first Nokia (N-95 8GB). If only my current dream phone: Samsung Omnia HD had a xenon flash.
Cellphone Manufacturers: Please start throwing in a xenon flash on Every "camera-centric" phone and Every phone over $350!!!! It is time!

Seen a vodafone brochure and the listed pay as you go price is £400 wich is a very good price i say...but even at £500 i dont think is expensive..probably will be available at £40 contract wich is acceptable again.
wHY people say this is a rip off when iphone uses the same hw(cpu) similar specs for a fortune.
I bet nokia n900 will be a fortune as well while se has always delivered quality and affordability.

Symbian must think about universal game for all Symbian Smartphone. so all Symbian Smartphone [Nokia , Samsung , LG & SE] user can play multiplayer online game together.

I don't know why people are saying that this phone is outdated. Lets not compare this phone to any samsung out there. Specs on a samsung mean absolutely nothing, every single phone that samsung has created is nothing but a pile of absolute crap, i know cos not only have i owned several differnt samsung phones but also i work at a mobile retailer so i compare different phones in store all the time.
This phone will be a similar price to the N900 and it will have similar multimedia functions to the N900 but with a better camera and possibly open remote with the PS3. So SE do know what they are doing and this phone will sell just as well as any other phone on the market.

Finally SE,are you awaken from your dreams of getting back to your once brief position as the 2nd market leader?
No,i won't say you'll be conquering mobile phone's market anytime soon,because :
1)Other brands have already launched their powerful smartphones with satio's specs much earlier,i agree with this.
2)12Mp in camera phone doesn't mean you're the best,there are more aspects to be counted for a high quality picture,guess i'll wait for the real retail product for more.
3)As for touchscreen,from Gsmarena video i think you're still far behind samsung,i have to admit samsung has a great touchscreen,but still they couldn't beat iPhone,that's the main reason why i choose iPhone 3Gs,nothing beats their multitouch tech.so you'll ( maybe )be one step closer to win the so faraway champion's throne if you could beat samsung first.
5)I hope it's not beta testing phone like P990i or W580,you're on the verge of abyss so stop abusing your fans with that silly act.
4)Finally i hope you could survive the competition,with that unreasonable price by making it up with plenty useful 3rd party applications,since satio is a smartphone.

Sony was and will be the best in cellphone coz they create phone for style not for those ugly function created by nokia. If you dont have style then dont buy Se. They r the boss in music and in camera therefore they r what they r.

Not that expensive, cheaper than N97, Omnia II, same price as N86, and its better. GSMA needs to take this into consideration....
