clarissa , 02 Dec 2016My SD card is not activate . how can I activate my SD card ... moreYou can't. The S6 active will allow you to slip in a microSD on the opposite side as your SIM card BUT it will not accept/register it to be used in your phone. This was one of the many cons that came with this version of the phone. Better battery life, tougher, stayed cooler..etc S#!& for memory. Lol.

Shen, 26 Mar 2015There you go guys. #facepalmIt's so funny reading the speculation. But because it's been released, I think I'll update this thread.

Imagine a Galaxy S6 with water, shock, and dust protection, physical buttons that don't light up, a new blue button on the left above volume called Active Key that is programmable to open up apps, 3500 MaH battery instead of 2500 MaH, an essentially built-in case with a more recessed screen and camera, rubberized back, and no fingerprint sensor. That's your lot.

You can use sd card by putting it in a cardreader and attaching the cardreader with the phone using OTG cable

"Samsung Galaxy S6 turned out not the flagship many was hoping for. It ditched the SD expansion slot the water protection and removable battery for good, in favor of refined design and improved user experience."

This is the biggest bullshit on GSMArena. In fact, those changes are horrible. They destroy the user experience.

"The microSD slot on the other hand was removed in order to fit more technology on its place and for a better and more refined design."

Are you joking? It's pathetic. So you say that fingerprint scanner and heart-rate monitor are more important than the SD slot? It's pathetic arguing. "more refined design" = marketing crap.

In fact, Galaxy S6 is the WORST Samsung phone ever. And the reason:

                          -no removable battery
                          -no memory card slot
                          -no FM Radio
-glass back (horrible material for phones)

These are the reasons why LG G4 is better than S6.

Non of those!, I suppose… do not be confused! coz if you really are into technology, you'll certainly know, that they can very easily alter the Exynos chipset to ever fit the needs of their true and very demanding active users!

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2015Reportedly the device will keep the Galaxy S6 specs, but wi... moreIn my humble opinion, fingerprint scanner and heart-rate monitor are not at all crap as iBend fanboys want to implant in the minds of the non-tech-savvy readers of this site, fervently hoping that they would be able to somehow, persuade their tech-innocent nouses to believe, that their pathos iBend is somewhat better than Samsung's Galaxy S6, S6-edge, and soon to be, S6-active! If this thread is being monitored by Samsung for feasibility/market study of some-kind or whatever purpose they have in mind, if they are going to listen to legit commenters like me and the multitudes who are truly concern about their products, and/or for the advancement of technology in general, if it is indeed necessary, yes, you may remove the fingerprint scanner. But please, keep on finding ways to include the heart-rate monitor feature and if possible, you may even find out ways to further enhance its capabilities, for the amelioration of their target (active users!)

No microSD expansion slot, no purchase from me. I have a Nexus 4 and I didn't realize it didn't have one and I miss it terribly especially since it's also a 16GB phone. Now I was looking at the 128GB version, but since I found out there is no microSD in the S6, I've been looking at other brands.

So I'm very confused now, first it was said that due to Exynos chip and LPDDR4, the SD card was removed because it would slow down the processor speed. Now they are planning on releasing the active model with same specs and the SD card. Does this mean they are going back to a Qualcomm chipset or just going to deal with a decrease in performance?

I don't know why they don't just use bottons like on the GS2 instead of those big clicky buttons.
