It's awesome that it has a 4" screen. Being a smaller phone will certainly be part of it's appeal.
It's largely an untapped market.

Despite the media attempt at distorting, later articles admit that the iPhone 5c was actually a huge success in sales, beating most of the Android flagships.
it is popular with the younger demographic. I think that an iPhone 6c will also prove to be very popular and will do very well in sales.

As much as I would've lied it to actually become a thing, it didn't catch on. Even a 4S seemed like a better choice at the time. The problem is, once again, the pricing. If you're going to release a cheaper and less powerful version, make sure cheaper is actually cheap. Here the difference was roughly $100-$150...there was no justification in price or performance to pick one up instead of a Nexus for example (unless you already spent a lot of money on your existing iTunes account).
Hope they took some pointers from the 5C with this one.

iPhone 5C may not have been the biggest hit, but now that the 6 is a success, I think this will be a gap-filler for a cheaper and more affordable iPhone, without the pressure of making it a "best seller".
And honestly, I do see a number of 5C's floating around these days. With TouchID and NFC, I think the 6C could be popular.
