The main release this year will be the Z4 so not sure there is cause to gripe. If they do not release the Z4, it will mean no release for Sony in 2015 which will be simply idiotic. September 2014 through June 2015 is 9 months and enough of a gap from the Z3! For chrissakes, people always whining.....!

Z2, 3 have been made of plastic for years and still sold, however the new Z4 will be amazing,
in today marker you can't just have one phone as top dog, but I believe both edge and z4 will be the top dog of 2015, and everyone else will be behind including iphone.
watch out for Z4, it will be the best smart phone ever been produced, and believe me I know what I am talking about
but that doesn't make s6 or edge being bad phone, they are still amazing and tough competition for sony.

People keep talking about Samsung making a big design change like it's a big deal.
Samsung had to do it. They were making cheap plastic phones before. Sony make premium smartphones and omnibalance is their design identity. The problem isn't omnibalance, the problem is that they haven't improved it much by reducing the bezels. Maybe they should do something bold to shrink the bezels. Either make the device thicker to house the large battery or reduce the battery capacity.
The two day battery life is overrated as most people are used to charging overnight. A days worth of solid usage is all that's needed.
My biggest gripe with this device is the fact that they've used the same cold pale bluish display as with the z3. Why couldn't they just go back to the z2s display quality even if it consumes more power.
Again I hear people complaining about the same camera. The sensor is already the best in mobile aside from that used in the lumia 1020. Irrespective of what gsmarenna and phonearenna who are Samsung marketing extensions say, the Sony cameras may not be good in auto mode or with auto sesettings but with manual settings they produce the best overall stills quality. The Samsung devices have better video but not stills especially lowlight where the Sony's are much better.
You jokers here just spend all your time looking at very controlled camera comparisons which are very misleading.
What the Sony xperias need is not a new sensor but OIS. Stabilising is their greatest draw back.
Will I be moving from the z2 to the z4? No but only because it doesn't offer enough to justify an upgrade. Z2 already has an excellent all round camera, an excellent display, great performance, great audio, fantastic battery life, and ip certification. It was always going to be hard to significantly improve on that after only a year.
The Samsung s6 people are shouting about is an improvement on a device that had a poor design and build quality, a camera that was only good in daylight, average battery life, average audio, bloated laggy performance. That wasn't hard to better. Samsung was starting from a much lower base. That's all! The S5 was a poor effort in many respects.
The s6 might be a big step up but only from a Samsung perspective. Metal and glass designs have been around since 2010. Samsung fanboys need to get a grip. Samsung have just caught up to where others have been for years. Get over yourselves!!

I like Sony, but honestly, a flagship every six months is kinda nonsensical. I mean, this time last year the Z2 was hot s#!t and now it's two generations old (well, almost, at least). And it's not like they make any big changes on the phones either. The only difference between the Z2 and Z3 was... the version of android they ran basically. This imo is just a huge waste of time and resources.

Sony provides the least bezels compared to Samsung or HTC. go to the phone's specifications section and check the screen to body ratio and you will find Sony to have the best ratio. but still Haters are crying. can you prove me Sony has big bezels?

Looks like they have slashed the design budget of the flagship.
They will likely only make minor exterior changes and just update the hardware from the Z4 onwards, disappointing.
