[deleted post]I wonder even with all the dozens of touchscreen models released by the almighty brand AFTER the release of iphone.
Surprisingly the almighty brand didn't seem to know how to make touchscreen before iphone, but after iphoen all of the sudden the almighty brand released at least half a dozen touchscreen phones...
From my observation in one of the largest phone markets in the world...USA, the almighty brand is doing worse than even SE, or maybe even Moto...

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2009Nokia has been slowly losing this game for years.
Apple's ... moreNokia, will never lose their marketshare and nor will they end up as Motorolla. You know why? Nokia knows what most people want, they don't stick up to one specific group, but they have product for every segment and in any sort of price.
Nokia also has the most features for the lowest price. Comparing Motorolla to Nokia is tbh, the dumbest thing I've ever read in my entire life. Motorolla is shit and Nokia is one of the 5 best brands in the world, and that's something that'll never change.
Nokia will get to 50% by 2011.

Nokia has been slowly losing this game for years.
Apple's been the biggest dent, and now with Palm's amazing Pre and Android taking over almost all manufacturers, Nokia will go the same way as Motorola. Nokia needs to admit they can't design good hardware or software for the high end smartphone sector. They need to get a better design team and start putting android on their handsets. The N900 looks better but it's still got a hint of crappy S60 interface feel.

I think nokia would have had a larger sales if they would have not had all the issues with the n97!!! I've had nokia all my life and stuck with this great company but after purchasing the n97, i am starting to look at other manufactures. I believe so many others are also. I know every company has at least one bad product but they could of made it a main priority to fix the issues. they released the video of the firmware update for october in early september and i called nokia on oct 12 and none of the nokia representatives know of any release dates. $630 on a phone and all the problems in the world. I work for one of the mobile companies and i sample a lot of phones and i am disappointed just like all other big nokia fans that have intrusted nokia into providing a great phone at $630.

Good for Nokia.
Wished it would design better looking phones! Some of them are just bland or just ugly! The GUI needs to be updated for many models!
Maybe the other phone makers should take note and improve their products esp. SE, which seems to be dying, as hardly any news has been released!

[deleted post]Yes you are really correct……………
GSM arena is a big fan of Nokia…………
The Nokia totally lost. This is even effect to European share market. The European market shares already going down. This is big issue, but GSM arena trying to show this is a small problem.
The Nokia net loss of EUR 559 million. This is really big amount. Sales slump 20%.

OH my gosh!
It was Network Services that made the biggest loss, excluding that they would have probably still made a profit. Nokia does a lot of things, not just phones.
network service is not a PHONE, oh my gosh, this also donno??

polo99a9, 15 Oct 2009all the comments posted here blame nokia for the lack of ne... moreAgree most of the sales come from mid-low end phones. However, does the strategy of keep pumping out so called "new models" with minor differences (e.g. 6303, 6700, 6720 etc...) really work? Do potential customers of these phones really care if the cam has been "upgraded" or not?
From the report, sales is increasing while profit is shrinking, so does it still make sense to keep pumping out so called "new models" constantly?
Last but not least, I do admire staff @ the almighty brand, as they can memorize all the (minor) differences of the different models...

The aged queen has no other option now but to put some makeup and act like she is still young...follow the new generation princess to survive. But she has her ego..she doesn't adapt new generation style promptly. She does it slowly to avoid being called copycat. She used to be fat, it took her long to shed those extra weight and join the slim princess. She doesn't show what she is copying from others..she does that in updates. She has no option but to "copy" the copycats these days!
