Nokia 5230 poses for some live shots before it heads for the stores

18 October, 2009
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic seems to have it all – large 3.2” touchscreen display, 3G and Wi-Fi support and even a GPS receiver aboard. The cute Nokia 5530 XpressMusic kept only the Wi-Fi, its display shrank...

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2009hey it worked for apple with the iphone for the 1st 2 years And still iPhone remain undisputed undefeated untouchable because of their multitouch,as for nokia, what did they offer to us beside this desperate handset with lousy touchscreen capabilities just like 5800 and 5530? NOTHING..

As a direct competitor to samsung, this device will have one fierce battle against corby, but corby haas capacitive screen, and low end samsung touchscreen isn't that bad, samsung has more experience in touchscreen phone, beside 5230 came up late & i won't be surprised to see it crumble under corby.
One thing for sure : 5230 won't save nokia from falling apart just like their N97 failed in the market.

really really i dono y Nokia is goin like a crap pot! 5530XM has a nice design but downgrd features, now 5230 same crap design of 5800XM w/o WiFi! a 2MP cam! it sucks. I want 5800XM features (or even more) with 5530 design:) i was so excited about next version 5800XM set with very good design @ afford' price, but they made another crap. Samsung will do lot better in touch series:) it seems they will kick away this crap soon.

This is the reason that Nokia sales are falling, instead of creating a much better mobile.all they do is use the same housing an produce a different coloured batterey cover, why couldn"t they have produced something totally different with a better type of housing, they seem to a company that does not like spending money an always release mobiles with the same housing but just change the features,Samsung are really showing Nokia up nowdays an always producing slimmer an more attractive mobiles, why couldn"t Nokia produce a much slimmer mobile with a alot wider screen instead.it seems odd

Amazing Colour. Great look and changable back cover makes it one of the greatest stylish set ever made by Nokia in recent years at such an extraordinary low price tag.
Hey all wifi Lovers itz only a mobile phone, not an Laptop and we all know that 3G is of more useful than Wifi in respect of mobile internet.

Whilst the price quoted is 189 euros one can expect this to reduce slightly as the device is intended to sit below or alongside the 5530 in the touchscreen Xpress Music range. It is entirely likely that this device will be around 120 euros/under £100 in early 2010 and can be expected to be probably Nokia's biggest mainstream selling device, which will also aid the company's wish to popularise Symbian Touch 5th Edition across a much wider market. The 5230 is likely to have no equal in the market as a touchscreen device running a smartphone OS with more features than can arguably be expected at this price. Power users will always opt for the ever better value 5800 but this device will fly off the shelves. There is no doubt about that.
