SONY depends on Qualcomm for processor/chipset and this is the big mistake. SONY should make its own chipset like SAMSUNG. Exynos 7420 is the best chipset which has been included in SGS6. SONY should announce next phone quickly to battle with SGS6. Huge DISAPPOINTMENT from SONY!!!

Really, They've put the 810 in and downgraded the battery?!?!?!?.....well there goes the Z series class leading battery life!
Also I don't really think this camera set up is going to be offering any suprises, by the sounds of it; it's just another IMX220.
No mention of any OIS? or any other hardware improvements, so unless Sony has worked wonders with their image processing (somthing they havn't been able to get right in 3 generations of Z series devices) then this will still fall short of expectations in the camera department.

2 k is an overkill, you wouldn't notice much difference than a fhd on a 5.2 inch device

This phone only for Japan Market.
No Compact Version.
No International Release Date.
Sony make something unpredictable strategy.
Sony looks like want to bring the older Xperia Z series to better position.
Xperia Z3 looks more Valuable than Galaxy S6.
Xperia Z3 Compact looks more Valuable than Iphone 6 & Galaxy Alpha.
Xperia Z1 Compact looks more Valuable than Galaxy S5 mini & Galaxy A5.
and some more...
Interesting.

ct79, 20 Apr 2015Makes me wonder how much money they are saving for keeping ... moreyeah that "all the same" designing makes me wonder!!!
they didn't change nothing??why??
at least i hope the sensor is better,
to much artifacts on z3 camera.
i want a bigger sensor with lower artifact/noise plus low light performance not 12800 ISO.such little sensor with such high ISO, the picture would be a total noise at 12800 iso.
make believe sony you are running outta time!!!

its sad to see a company like Sony with a huge multimedia and technological power produce sutch dissapointing products instead of investing in combining its divisions & services together to inovate & make a new product that will revolotinize the user expirience

It seems these rumours are true that the Z5 series will be released soon with the snapdragon 820 chip and a totally new design, well let's see.

So what's the difference, really? 810 instead of 801? 6.9mm thin instead of 7.3mm?
I've been a Sony supporter for quite a while, but right now I see no improvement from their side whatsoever. Slimmer waistline probably means less battery life. And 810, as far as we know, overheats. Yes, you can keep it cool by throttling, which will decrease the performance, but then - what's the point of the upgrade?
