If you do, society is leaning towards that trend
That's why Microsoft intended to have the One OS Platform on Windows 10 for BOTH Mobile and PCs.
Plus, as a business user, I do want to have one device as my PC and Phone at the same time.
Anybody in the field would know why.

Anonymous, 26 May 2015I don't think anyone has complained about the G2 being too ... moreI agree that the aerodynamics of LG G-Series are good and nobody (or maybe a handful) has complained about its thickness.
However, he does have a point... given LG's thickness, shouldn't it deserver a higher battery capacity?
Given its specs, 3000 mAH should be its minimum (preferably higher)

slaia, 26 May 2015Sad, that LG version has only 2700 battery capacity. If LG ... moreLG G2 has 5.2 display, but the battery size is 3000 not 3200. If LG does the next Nexus with 5.2 display and 2700 battery size, it will be probably to make it thinner due to a lot of people out there complaining that the LG G2 is too thick.

Will love to get the LG made 5.2" Nexus, but if the battery is only 2700mAh then i will most likely get the 5.7" screen Huawei Nexus with 3500mAh battery. I plan on getting the LG G4...so i will get my LG fix from the G4. Will have to wait and see what each brings to the table b4 that decision becomes final. Even tho just a rumor at this point, pleased to see Google finally realize this is what they should have done last year.

Anonymous, 26 May 2015What you need is more optimized code, not necessarily more ... moreMore cores != more heat. When making multi core cpus they just "slice" what it would be a single core into more cores. This has some advantages like keeping a small part of the cpu active instead all of it when executing simple tasks or for better multi theading capabilities. But writing multi threaded programms is not the easiest thing in the world and many tasks still use a single thread to excecute things so a powerful dual core would be better suited for those.
The only way to reduce heat effectively and keep the performance is to minimize the CPU lithography.

Sad, that LG version has only 2700 battery capacity. If LG can fit 3100 in G2 it could fit it into Nexus 5.2 too. I own G2 along side Nexus 5 and G2 has much longer battery life.

Anonymous, 26 May 2015Using multiple windows and switching between apps to search... moreWhat you need is more optimized code, not necessarily more firepower. Same with gaming PCs that's heavily specced, when even ANY badly coded high graphics game can bog it down real soon to a point where either a) a patch for the game fix gets out or b) the graphic card's driver need an update.
To demand faster performing SoCs at this current ROI rates of power:batt life ratios is just stupid. Literally everything octa or deca core under the sun right now aren't addressing the problem really well.

I have a Z1 compact and while I was playing with lollipop upgrades, I used a Nexus 4 (not 5 or 6) for my SIM card. I can't operate it single-handed. I stick with my 2011 prediction: Galaxy S II size is the biggest a phone should have. Can't wait to see the Z4 Compact, but I really would like an updated Nexus 4"-er.

The smartphone is a computer but just because you don't need the processing power doesn't mean nobody does.
Also, you don't or can't have your computer every time you need it but you will certainly have your phone. Right now mobile devices can do a lot of things that your computer can do while being more compact and easier to use thanks to the better socs. (Maybe in the future of Microsoft they will do all the things ...)
