28 May, 2015
The payments are joined by official fingerprint sensor support. Apps have a better way of integrating the web.

Anonym, 28 May 2015I would be more concerned if THIS is Android 6.0 than anyth... moreI was actually surprised 6.0 is the next release. As you say, it's more of a 5.2, so it's probably just a versioning change, if anything.

It looks like for the first time in a long time, all the exciting stuff are on Microsoft's side.

We already have too much Google. The Android mobile device is a constant feedback to Google and its marketing alliance partners. We need total privacy and security, not selling our body and soul to Google.

Embarrassing that they can't even give Android Pay a name that distinguishes it from Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. Google's mobile payment has been around for several years, it's good that they revised it and everything but why call it Android Pay? They should have given it a more original name. All in all I'm pretty disappointed with the keynote, more like catch up improvements to the OS.

I really loved the way iOS handles app permissions and was hoping Android will adopt it. Really glad for this.

By prompting each permission individuall... moreI don't consider a lot of permissions to be a negative thing about an app. This just means it can do more for you. Most apps that are extremely simple and provide only one task typically have a very small amount of permissions. It's because they don't do much.

This is the first time i dont want to rush about android upgrade, what i see is little increment from lollipop,.. Android OS now going mature as mobile OS, and google want to add feature, an evolution from this OS
As long as u got lollipop (ART runtime), u can keep your device for another 3 years if u want..

I am surprised how no one mentioned how "App links", which (quote) "Android M adds a secure way for apps to verify that when they send a request (e.g. open Twitter and show this tweet), the receiving app that handles the request is legit." is essentially a way to block alternative apps to services like Facebook, Twitter and the likes (should they decide to). Nice going!

Lame, payments nothing new, reinventing the wheel again, with Google wallet. Again you need mobile carriers to work, sucks. RUBBISH just like apple pay. W10 payments ftw.

Omar, 28 May 2015Google provides SW updates for Nexus only. Blame Samsung.Google provides update to the android OS, which is available to all producers.

Samsung decided instead to build and distribute a proprietary OS BASED on android, so they should care to deliver the porting, not google.

Motorola decided instead to stick with the android standard, this is why all their devices are supported so well and no user complain about updates.

Who the bloody eff cares who had a feature first and who copied from whom. Seriously, all those "but x had this first!!!!11oneeleven"-posts are just childish. I'm much more interested in knowing IF a feature is available, not where it comes from.

Finally getting more detailed permission control on stock ROMs is great news. That Doze feature looks nice, too. Now you just have to get a smartphone that will actually be updated to 6.0... which is the bigger problem here.
