Anonymous, 10 Jun 2015No thanks, I prefer 4K screen which is also flexible...5.5&... moreUnfortunately, this is the opinion of the majority and the reason why phone manufacturers are moving to super-res displays. There is literally no positive benefit to them, but several negative ones. Still, most people ignorantly think bigger numbers are necessarily better.
If you had to choose between a phone with a mid-range CPU, GPU, and battery and a 4K display, or a phone with a high-end CPU, GPU, and battery and a 1080P display, which would you choose? You'd choose the one with the 1080P display, right?
Well, 4K displays essentially render high-end CPU/GPU/Batteries to mid-range performance. So you may FEEL like you're choosing the "flagship" phone, but what your really getting is duped into paying flagship price for mid-range performance.

If this phone doesn't come compaitble with a VR headset (most likely not), the 4K display would be a complete waste of energy.

The only thing that a 4K screen on a smartphone will be good for is virtual reality.
2K was not enough at all for virtual reality.

AnonD-335213, 10 Jun 2015If so, then, congrats to ZTE; for finally beating-out Samsu... moreI don't think so. Note 5 will most likely use 2K.
Either way we are getting close to the goal, hopefully.

I know that using high resolution displays is awesome, but what is the point in having more than 350 ppi??? Most people can barely see individual pixels at 300 ppi. People with good eyes can see pixels at up to 350-380 ppi and people with really good eyes can see pixels at ~400 ppi but with some effort and by keepind the display so close to their face, that they look ridiculous. How/why do people get excited about something so useless such as a 5.5", 4k display?

If so, then, congrats to ZTE; for finally beating-out Samsung when it comes to true innovation! But still, I'd like to think that the Note 5 would be the one who will be able to come-up first with this 4k thing.
