Honestly no, I don't care for Android. The Android apps that run on Blackberry are somewhat laggy. The iOS apps and the Blackberry official apps run smooth. I am intrigued to see how a Blackberry Android works if it is not running the BB10OS..

I'm a big fan of blackberry. If blackberry smartphone were power by Android, i might give up on blackberry. You know what!!millions of smartphone were run by Android but still I choose blackberry. There is thousands of reason I don't like android device. Upgrade bb OS ,redesign all fashion design, make sure there is screen protection like gorilla glass..if you were thinking of market sale rate than change the hardware which you could sell out in cheaper price...or if people's satisfaction is more important than continue with the same plans. We're looking forward to BLACKBERRY'S next device.

Jon (Swe), 25 Jun 2015I really rather wished they did a qwerty phone like teh Q10... moreOh, I said Q10 and meant Q10 too and not Q20/Classic, cause that one is a bit too big. And I like Amoled screens.

I really rather wished they did a qwerty phone like teh Q10, but with upgraded internals.
I like keyboards, and they are hard to get these days.
But they should make sure they get good langugague support, so we that don't speak english exclusively get our special letters.
I have nothing against BB OS, except that it's missing some apps. And sideloaded apps don't always work perfectly.
And apps are essential these days.
I think BB must go the android route, and should have long ago. They can't sustain an eco system. Well they could have tried to license their OS. But I don't think they would have signed enough partners.
Sure with android they would be just one of many. But if they kept doing qwerty phones in different shapes anf forms, they could find a nische, that could very well give them enough recognition that they could sell pretty well with touch only devices as well. Especially among enterprise users.

He didn't say that he is going to abandon the BB10, he just said he can consider Andriod.. which may be an indicator about a decision to become a company which manufactures phones 1 with BB10 and 2. with Andriod.
That is unique

It's impossible to make a secure android phone. They'd have to disable practically every option, including thr play store. On top of that, you have google reading your infos if they want

blackberry only needs to start making dual sim phones, no need to dabble in other peoples business. your phones are quite fine.

Any day mate, BB OS 10 is lot better than any OS, they should prefer a better marketing strategy than thinking of switch to Android, but i guess for now just develop few android based phone to get the cash flow and then work out the apps issue on OS 10. I love BB and BB OS 10. Mr Chen looks like following stephen elop foot setps.

As I would like a Windows-based BB device more than an Android one, I would still consider an Android BB if security and build is top-notch and if the price is competitive a.k.a cheap. If they would just be producing an Android BB device with BES12-and-KNOX-Galaxy level of security, I'd skip. But if they can bump their would-be first Android device with a significantly higher security without all being dramatic with its price, count me in to add it on my wishlist

Why don't they purchase Symbian and work on it? It actually had a secure shell, specially in the later versions.
And it has a fan following too, from Nokia days. I would get one anyday even from Blackberry!

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2015RIM should make Windows Phone. It's as secure as Blackberry. Btw who's RIM ?

Android is not made for security. Google made it so OEMs can add spyware, malwares, whatever they want to the OS to gain marketshare for Google to collect data. RIM needs to look elsewhere.

Hey BB! Don't let us wait too long!
Remember, don't follow the mistake made by Nokia's android phone for not accessing to Google Play!

Blackberry is alive and kicking -
Press Release - "Revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2016 was $658 million. The revenue breakdown for the quarter was approximately 40% for hardware, 38% for services and 21% for software and technology licensing"
I prefer the bb10 os over android but having options is never bad for the consumer ;)
