If they are brand new custom a57 cores and run up to 3Ghz there better be an improvement in those scores. That's just sad. Unless it's back to older cores again. Then it's pretty good

I already knew everything you have just said.
My point is that if your hardware cannot perform the functions that you offer for sustainable periods then there is no point in offering that function and making those functions as your USP

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2015"with QHD screens the norm, a good GPU is needed more ... more"Well that's completely wrong. A powerful GPU does no good on android unless one's gaming." The same can be said about the CPU though, most applications barely use the CPU unless they are very poorly optimized. I'd like to know what, other than games, would require a high end CPU? I doubt there are any apps used as widely as games that require a high end CPU, and because of that it's ridiculous that a high end CPU would come with a cheapo GPU. For most people the CPU in the S6 is expensive overkill where a much cheaper mid range CPU would work just as well, and for the people that might use the full performance (gamers) the GPU is comparatively under-powered and drags down the performance making it a less than ideal SoC compared to the 810 or 820. Not to mention that the Samsung phones have just as bad overheating problems as the 810 when using the GPU, just watch Gear VR demos, the phones get crazy hot and have to stop after 10-20min of playing anything non-trivial. I look forward to the 820 as it might finally be a decent SoC for gaming, especially if the 1440p screen trend keeps up, native resolution performance has been going backwards since the unnecessary jump to resolutions beyond 1080p.

Nice to prove that it is not a matter of core number or GHz number. It is the overall performance. I comment before stating the above, and was accused that I am trolling!!
So, I thing this article is trolling too!!!!! Guys, again, it is the overall performance!!!
Another thing: please understand that Samsung and Apple are doing business, they are neither ENEMIES nor FRIENDS!!! Fanboys battle is worthless!.

ithehappy, 29 Jun 2015Iphone has dual core processor and it still beats exynos wi... morebut really who cares about silly benchmarks, that have NO bearing on real life situations, the s6 trounces the iphone in every department bar NONE in real life usage, it has WAY more work to do, and way more powerful components to run as is the android way, iphone is powered by a very good performing chip, but i wonder how well that chip would perform if the iphone had all the flagship components that the s6 has like the processors, ram, display, UFS storage, camera etc. all of which is not last years tech as per the apple way but top of the line flagship equipment

iDevices rather mediocre multi-tasking is becaus... moreAre you drunk or do you live in 2013? Only Exynos 5410 and exynos 5420 use 4 cores at a time and that's because of a fault in core scheduling. Exynos 5422, 5430, 5433 and 7420 are all true octa cores which is why they perform better in synthetics than quad cores with more powerful per core performance.
Also Mediateks 6592, 6595, 6752, 6753 and 6795 are all true octacores as well. Plenty of true octacores make the rounds it's far from (being) a new tech.

[deleted post]What? No. I'm not trying to 'save face' or being ignorant. I'm stating the truth and if you can't accept it, that's YOUR problem. I'm not going to further convince you to accept if it's not going to make any difference.
For a person who claims to be from the 'educated world', you don't seem educated. Peace.

Do one thing. Get out from your home and start to live in a cave. Your comment would better sync with your living place then.
And stop talking like Apple CPU, it's basically a TSMC or Samsung or something! Seriously, I have lost count how many 'actual' manufacturers are helping Apple to survive, and then the "extremely intelligent" Americans are helping them to thrive, at least for the time being.

AnonD-241589, 29 Jun 2015Designer and manufacturer aren't same ! 820 is designed ... moreLook how great their 810 processor was. If you think qualcomm can actually design processors than your so called logic is lacking. The snapdragon s1 s2 and now the 810 were absolute jokes. Meanwhile Nvidia or mediatek could not do any better with their so called weak Tegra processors. All of these processors aforementioned were fabricated by tsm. And yet somehow the weak Tegra processor or the weak snapdragon processors could not so called desiGn their way out of their lagging, sluggish performance. So now.qualcomm wants samsung to make their processors for them and rebate it as a snapdragon? That notion is non-sense. The logic dictates that samsung sdi is doing the heavy lifting with 'DESIGNING' the lithography and manufacturing the processor.
