Finally. A company that dares to innovate with an impressive interface.
It's a breath of fresh air in a stale world of boring rehashed S60 Symbian, Android and WinMo phones.
Introducing yet another OS though...sigh. Not good. Fragments developers and consumers even more, which'll mean zero worthwhile third-party apps.

this 'phone' will totally screw the iphone.i am as impressed with this as i was when i first saw the iphone.linux is definitely the way to go!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not big deal with this phone, nice UI but it seem a bit perverse releasing touch from screen to launch apps, and in some other video i so, there was lags playing media video.
It is going to bee wery expensive for owners, because is going to be with contracts like iphone, and the worst is that your identity you made contract is going to be revealed anywhere you enter internet and if they require id from your phone, it's because you don't need to be registered any where the device is going to do it for you, and if there is something to get from internet than this is going to do automatic payment, so in the end of the month you'll get the bill, probably very big bill from thieve-hackers.
You could hardly hear speakers playing music just like iphone.
I think better than the cheap n5800xm is no one, and i will keep it, and ass for this UI, i will just have to wait couple of month, and there is going to be new MyPhone UI like this, just like they did with MyPhone iphone UI emulator for Nokia touch screen phones.

I like the way they implemented the phone book (and scroll menus) - the highlighted name/item automatically gets the context menu on it (the Call button comes together with the highlighted name). That's probably the best implementation of a full touch screen phonebook (yes, better than the iPhone) because you don't have to tap on the name and then select the action. Intuitive.
I foresee a problem with the 'main menu' though (other than being a pure right-handed device) - it appears that you'd need a bit of control and precision to select the item you want with your thumb. You could easily overshoot the item you want or accidentally highlight the adjacent item while lifting your thumb.
And yes, why didn't they create it to be left-AND-right handed??! (Hint: Just remove those hardware buttons and do a flip option for the OS!)

I smell vaporware. I doubt this will ever see the light of day. Very cool OS, though. Could use some refining. There were a few times it seemed the guy doing the demo was struggling a bit to get the phone to respond/react, but the OS is still in its development stages and that is to be expected. I don't know if I like the text only menus for the thumb-slide, but that honeycomb menu looked amazingly cool. It's definetely something "else." I guess we'll just have to wait and see if it ever comes out.

User friendly for the right handed but what about for the lefties like me? Amazing interface indeed kinda look like the computer from the sci-fi movies!

This phone is true si-fi i looked ad some video's (u bether do the same)even the sounds it makes are like in all of the si-fi movies, it makes the same sounds as the 5800 concept in badman, if this is what the future holds its scary something maemo 6,7

What a waste on the screen look at that huge black zone... The market is sooo saturated by OS's why they still want to stick their head into it? Linux is free yeah but com'on it's just like another symbian not much has been done for the last 5 years even Nokia wants to drop it out... this ALP thing has a looong way to go...

Oh, and when & where can I buy one of these! If I pulled this out anywhere I'm sure it would get noticed right away, if I saw someone with this phone I would surely ask them questions.

This thing looks pretty impressive, and it would certainly turn heads (in a good way). My only concern would be getting used to navigating through what seems like ALOT of menus. Many phones are quite intuitive in their interface and allow for quick and easy access to frequently used things/apps. Iphone is known for this in particular. This phone seems to be the complete opposite though. It would probably be really cool to use for a while, but I feel like it would just get frustrating trying to get to even the most basic things quickly. If they work with it a bit it could be truly amazing, and it looks like something out of startrek. Keep it up :)
