i am from india. i read all the comments.i bought satio a week back. the dealer updated my satio software to,1218-9500-ribb041.since the day i bought it,there is absolutely no problem at all.it works fantastically. camera is excellent.not even once it crashed.this is my independant opinion as an owner. i am not using a locked handset.
but my friend who is using a locked satio, shows all those problems right from crashing to total blackout.
what i feel is if you are using a locked handset and if you havent updated the software it simply shuts down.
previously i was using n97 which was showing screen freezing, which became normal after i updated software.
so what i feel is no need to panic and run behind each and every new handsets.stick to a handset, and trust a company.they feel the heat more than we people do.
personally i feel touchscreen handsets the best companies are htc,apple/. camera handsets samsung, sonyericsson./overall performance, service backup nokia.( in india) i dont know about other countries.

i have used k310, k550 and currently i am using g900. Every time i wanted to buy a phone, i found the best performance over price in SE phones in comparison to other producers. i never had any problem with SE phones. i will buy phones after six months of their release time. Then u can be sure that the major problems of the phone are solved.

My current phone is still the K750 as there is nothing else out on the market that is good looking, great camera, has a decent battery, cheap, great features etc etc.

I am not wasting my time to buy another handset of SE. they charge there phones to high and despite of that its not even worth it. im a SE user before and i used the P1i it was fine but starting to get frustrated. to slow, expensive, and they throw away the P series models.they don't make it anymore. so i shift to samsung and htc they are the most trusted smartphone makers in the world. so im happy that im using them.

I used to love SE; then I decided, after extensively going through reviews here. that I'd switch to Samsung in lieu of upgrading the 5mp cam on my K850i.
I'm a total photography freak and thus switched to the Samsung i8510, also known as the Innovate; 8 megapixels with 8 gb and a 3.5 mm jack as well as a charger far more durable than the SE fastport [been using SE since the era of the k500, so I know what I'm talking about] - But boy, was I dissapointed!!!
Samsung sure wasn't my thing and, due to not being able to find anything really appealing, I've now switched to the Nokia 6220 Classic, which sports a 5mp cam with xenon flash. Am planning on going for the C905 as soon as I've got the dough...
BUT - The bottom line, as far as I'm concerned, is that although I love SE, the hanging OS issue sure is extremely frustrating!!! And although I'm not a fan of Samsung, based on my innovate experience, I guess the fact that it has no 'hanging' issues makes it more practical....
Yawn... that was longer than I thought it'd be -
And for examples of the photography I'm into, try checking out [http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/album.php?aid=332054&id=541355113]

SE should learn from Nokia. They never released their phone with any issue. N97, N96, 5800 XM for example were free of issues since the first day consumers got them. Am I right?

if it takes SE so long to "improve" the software and mass produce a phone they hv already built a protype of, and then, their "enhancements" fail, it makes u wonder, wtf r SE doing that takes them so long? they get caught up in the little insignificant details and ignore the big picture. xperia x10 is rly only w8in for them to get the ui working more efficiently. but wat is wrong with just android not covered up? they spend less time, hv less competitors around, spend/waste less money on software, and shud earn more profit as a result. they rnt adding multitouch on android 1.6 but android 2.0 has multitouch (which moto uses) so y dont they just use android 2.0? it wud save them time and money. if they hv been working on android 1.6 b4 2.0 was released and still hvnt managed to mass produce the phone, then its no wonder why they keep losing market share and revenue.
