There was a time when Nokia, Motorola and Blackberry were the major players of the smartphone industry, but now we see that two of them have been sold to other companies and the third one could also be sold out in next few years or even months,

I want to say that if motorola and nokia had merged their businesses or even become partners, then their were no needs to sold them.

And now I am not saying to blackberry, sony, htc or other smartphone companies of the world to sold their bussiness but i am advising blackberry, sony, htc and other smartphone companies of the world, who are losing day by day, to merge their bussines with one or two companies or become a partner with them for their future profit, because compitition depends on strength.

Sorry if you did not like my post or if my english is bad.

    Gud luck to everyone.

I WAS THE ONLY person with inside knowledge who predicted the exact date of release of Z3+/Z4, and today I can tell you this...
Sony has something so special for the world of smart phones and the release date is November 2015, You might think Z4/Z5, but think again, Sony will surprise all of you with this state of art phone.

Sony is here and to stay and soon will make Samsung and apple to run for their money.

              watch the space

Sony must create greater market segmentation both in terms of price and tech functionality. Providing high spec flagships with steep pricing would not work anymore since their competitors were highly innovative. Sony must introduce decent smartphone for low prices and more affordable quality flagship to stimulate the buyers of these reasonably priced phone to try the highest priced top notch flagships. Functional segmentation such as Walkman branded phones and Cyber shot branded phone could be reintroduced. See Samsung, they are producing a lot phones targetting different market segments. Some of them were really craps but Samsung brand quality will later will be saved by their flagships. Sony's midrange will surely have its drawbacks in some areas or functionalities so that's why they are losing

"Sony Mobile will focus on delivering superior user experience". It should & has to focus on after sale service. Make service center by itself (not by 3rd or 4th party - yes it happens in Indonesia). It also has to heavily remodel its spare-parts & components supply chain system.

I use to love Sony back when they had their Cybershoot feature Phones. Now that we have entered the Smartphone age, I still believe they are behind the curve. The Z line of Smartphones look promising but I can't get over those thick upper/lower bezels. Also surprisingly the cameras are always lacking when it comes to indoor shoots. This surprises me given that Sony produces the camera Sensors for many other manufactures in the Smartphone world. The lack of "Optical" image Stabilization is a sore and availability in the USA of their smartphones throughout the major carriers are almost nonexistent.

SONY is a niche product, with quality, reliable and great specs included in there flagship builds.

I'm not sure how they could launch quality products packed with tech, and bring new technology to key smartphone areas, while cutting costs by 30% and decreasing workforce by 20%.
You need big investment to make any real impact.

Selling a smartphone business is a decision hard to contemplate for any electronic company. Nokia made such a costly mistake but I hear that the former smatphone king wants to resume smartphones manufacturing next year. Sony can not make such a mistake smartphones business realizes greater revenues in shorter time than hifis, tv,cameras, etc
