It would've been soothing to the ears + pleasing to the eyes had topic were like "Samsung comes with major omnia HD update" instead of "samsung omnia HD gold edition."

...because of Samsung's ignorance or incapability, whatever u can call it, this Omnia HD which is certainly rich on the hardware aspect has still performed below than what the device is or was capable of... & that was simply because of software part and lack of periodical firmware updates to it.

i'll probably paint my Omnia HD with golden color and will hang it on my bathroom's flashing pan... and say here comes my omnia HD gold bathroom edition... if i get more angry i'll flush it no matter if its gonna choke the pipe or something.

Sammy you can turn i8910 Omnia HD in to real gold by fixing the buggy firmware, HD video sound, kinetic scrolling, slow camera and so on. Or give our money back.

Not everything that shines is true gold...

Samsung should show real effort improving this phone before spending more money on advertizing gold and whatnot editions!

Getting all bugs fixed, releasing new GLOBAL firmware that introduces all features shown as already built-in, giving App Store for all regions, introduce long expected features all Samsung competition has already for less money.

Gold? No thank you, I wan't functionality, I'm not stupid!

As luxury phones go, it's a bit understated. I really don't see anyone going nuts for this edition that is currently in the luxury-phone-buying market. I do, however, think the new colors are quite nice. Especially the brown. Truth be told, the bezel on my non-luxury i8910 has tons of little scratches on it and I baby it to death. I can't imagine what a softer medal, such as gold, will do over time. Still, if those brown housings show up on the web later for a decent price (minus the gold of course) I'd be tempted to do a housing swap.

This is, like, a big F-you to us i8910 owners. Killer hardware that is wasted by abysmal software support. If things don't improve, this will be the first and last Samsung phone I'll ever buy. At least I didn't pay the full price (650€ here in Finland) for this one, can't believe how pissed off I would be if I did...

"Apart from the more luxurious outlook the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Gold Edition doesn't bring any other changes. The functionality is perfectly identical to the original model."

Now! This is what Samsung has as an answer to their nonexistent and flaky support for original i1890? Samsung better spend some money on giving what they wrote on their i8910 technical white papers and not waste any more resources on gimmicks like this one. You expect people to buy 'gold' version while you can't even fix software on standard one or you reserved all of the fixes and improvements only for 'gold'? You sure know how to screw up, you just proved it announcing gold failure version of the very same thing people won't buy anymore 'cause you won't fix continuing your silence regarding any customer demands!

Samsung, you're fooling yourself and you are lazy as one big lying company can be.

I'm sure I'm not going to buy any mobile phone from you seeing my current experience with your 2009 flagship... shame on you!

Symbian sucks, i have 5530 and I know it does. maybe it sucks less on a powerful hardware like omnia hd, but it surely still sucks.

Samsung is trying to conceal a bad firmware with some gold paint. They are going in a completely wrong direction. Just fix the damn firmware!
