Apple Watch sales have taken a 90% dip since opening week

08 July, 2015
Rather unsurprisingly, two thirds of the sold Apple Watch devices have been from the entry-level Sport family.

People quoting the sales figures,

How about you quote them minus the returns figures? I know of several ardent Apple fans who bought and returned the watch within a week of purchase because even they found it to be a terrible device.

Hail Apple , Hail Apple. Again, No smartwatch can compete with Apple. Again, No smartphone can compete with iPhone. Symbian was the only Operating system to compete and vanquish Apple. As for android is way far to come close to Apple. if Samsung is best why emulating Apple? By the way, how many people who are using S6? IPhone my second religion

Hahahah i laugh each time i read about poor sales of the Apple Watch :) hahahaha Even if its 20,000 units per day it will only take Apple 35 days to sell the same ammount of watches as Android Wear (All vendors across the globe) needed 12 months!!! Yet no one says how poor Android Wear sales are across all vendors arround the world especially on this website! GSMA you should really consider changing the name to GSMANDROIDarena :) pathetic. By the way,,, i have used quite a few smetwatches in past few monts (including moto360, Zenwatch and Sonys latest offering) and I'm the happy owner of Steel Apple Watch at the moment.. All I can say is although Smartwatch in general is not essential device, Apples offering is miles or even light years ahead of the competition and its actually joy to wear and is usefull not like other ones! Whoever will deny it is either blind, jelous or trolhater!

Not a surprise for me. Right now it is barely usable, very expensive gadget and nothing more. 18 h battery for a watch? Just give us b/w display (who cares for color on such a small device) and at least one week of battery life? For now I find activity tracking sport watches like Polar M400 or Fitbit Surge are much, much more usable option in real life.

Hardly surprising really. Why would you pay for an overpriced gadget which needs charging every 18 hours at least! And we also know there's going to be an apple watch S or 2 either September or early next year.............face it Apple stick to what your good at! Making laptops!

Useless product for that price range. Usual fans have bought the device and rest is realizing there is no value addition from the money they spent on this device. Thus no sales growth.

As a stand-alone OLED wrist watch it's nice.

(OLED - the technology Apple mocked Samsung for years and now conceded it's the future)

I'd only pay 100 GBP tops for it though - not a pound more.

Easily expected. These smartwatches don't add enough value to life at the asking prices.

Im surprised that people even bought this watch. That said, it is a normal thing for sales to drop after the initial buying surge and hype. Rubbish analysts. They should get a proper job!

By the way, Apple had a three pronged attack with the Apple Watch. It is not actually one model, but three.

Apple Watch Sport: This is the lowest priced, which attacks the FitBit and sports wearables market.

Apple Watch: This tackles the smartwatch and watch market in general.

Apple Watch Edition: Highest priced Apple watches, and actually tackles the high end non-smartwatch market. An alternative to Swiss watches for example.

Simply sensationalist reporting. So a highly anticipated product basically had a huge number of sales at launch, and then sales went down to normal levels after a mega launch. Wow that's unheard of lol.

By the way no emphasis given on these "poor" sales are wiping the floor of every rival in the market. Shoddy at best, and even other analysts have questioned the credibility of the source.

And in another news iPhone 6 sales are down 80% since opening week.

                                stupid analysts.

First appleBling came to the market a few years later. They then supplied the market with nothing special has other manufactures have already covered the tech mostly.

Then as per usual they slap insane rip off prices on their watches, obviously they think this is planet apple not Earth!

I suspect the appleBlingiTes aka iSheep aka tech lemmings just buy the watch because they know not what they need they just follow and that is what appleBling does it has the power to control the weak minded people.

Only if it was compatible with Android and had a 30 days battery life from a single charge it would have been with it...
